Although most of the buzz about Ugly Betty lately has been about the October 9 season premiere or the November sweeps Bahamas episode, the show is still filming other episodes.  Here are some photos of recent shooting in New York City.  This is a scene with Vanessa Williams and Michael Urie.

You’ll notice in some of these pics that Marc (Urie) looks worried or hard-pressed, and Wilhelmina (Williams) seems angry.  In a way, this is a good thing.  If Wilhelmina looked happy and cheerful, something would definitely be wrong.  The last thing we need is a contented or happy Willi.

A couple of small children, who are quite adorable, joined Ferrera as she exited the trailer.  I don’t think they are part of the shoot – but they sure are cute.
America, in the deep red coat, is beautiful and stylish (love the butterfly pin). Help me out here.  I can’t seem to remember a Claire / Amanda scene before in any of the first three seasons, except maybe just in passing.  Or am I forgetting a scene they had together?  (Notwithstanding Odor in the Court, in which Amanda withheld evidence that exonerated Claire)  I’m curious to see what this is all about.  Maybe Claire is trying to get information from Amanda about something Marc and Wilhelmina are doing?

Here are some set photos of Jamie-Lynn Sigler filming scenes for Ugly Betty with Eric Mabius.

I see that the character Natalie, Daniel’s new assistant played by Sigler, will have some pretty wild tastes in fashion.  I’ll leave it to you fashionistias to judge her look, but I think it’s almost Betty-like.  I THINK Patricia Field does that to characters she wants to appear approachable and non-threatening.  (Think about it – the better dressed you are, the higher chance you’re up to no good on Ugly Betty).

OMG – a Michael Urie and Becki Newton sighting!  The pair were recently filming scenes for Ugly Betty in New York City.

Becki looks wonderful in this leather or faux-leather outfit.  It doesn’t look quite as clownish as some of the outfits costume designer Patricia Field had her wear in season three.
Michael, though?  Well, he looks quite stylish and fashionable, except for the strange shirt he’s got on under the suit.  Drag News!  Actually, I like the shirt, it just looks so strange with a coat and tie, though.  I WANT those shoes, though.  They remind me of shoes I …read more

Here are some more revealing (in more ways than one) set photos from this week’s filming of Ugly Betty.  After all, I promised you a pic of Michael Urie as a hot dog bun.
But there’s more – apparently America Ferrera’s Betty was made to do all sorts of, shall we say, interesting things that day.

I’m not even going to guess what this is about.  OK, not really – that’s what we do here.  What is known is this: America Ferrera was in Midtown NYC today filming an Ugly Betty scene dressed as a hot dog.

When you think about it, the ridiculous cultural confusion of “Taj Mah Hot Dog” is classic Ugly Betty.  Of course, the menu behind Ferrera actually says “Delicious Meat Substitute Hot Dogs”, so I guess that makes a little more sense.

Here are some new photos from the set of Ugly Betty filming on location in midtown Manhattan.  Hat tip, B&B (and UglyBettyFan).

It appears that Eric Mabius’ beard will indeed end up onscreen, at least for a while.  Daniel is obviously distraught (as expected), and Betty seems to need comforting, too.
This outfit is more season 3 Betty than the new, more stylish Betty we’ve been promised for season 4.  It’s not that the top doesn’t match in general, but the floral pattern and crazy shoes just seem overdone.  Betty’s hair IS perfectly straight, though.

Here are some more pics (mostly of America Ferrera) on location with Ugly Betty in Central Park.

No braces here, but, I’d swear in some of the photos I’ve seen, Betty still has them.
Interestingly, Betty is wearing classic post earrings, and the fact that I’ve noticed signifies a change from seasons 1-3.  Betty usually wore her hair straight down over her ears, and you could rarely see her earrings.  In fact, that is still the case when Ferrera is fully in costume:

The cast and crew of Ugly Betty have been busy, busy, busy lately.  Not only did they have the Friday night filming at Citi Field, but they also did a bit of shooting  at City Hall Park in Manhattan.
