Becki Newton Stirs Things Up
Ugly Betty’s Becki Newton recently spoke with the Boston Herald about the show, her characeter Amanda, and moving back to New York.
About Amanda’s search for her father, Newton says, “From birth, Amanda has been trying to find herself. There’s resolve in the search with who her father is and how she sees herself. She’s made peace.”
I’m glad, because I always thought the story line was a little forced. And I say this as a huge fan of “Gene Simmons is my Daddy”.
Becki addresses the show’s return to its roots. “The heart was always there, but I do love …read more
Ugly Betty Spoiler From EOnline’s Kristin
May 20, 2008 by Tom
Well, Kristin from EOnline answers one of my Ugly Betty season finale questions:
Anna in Salt Lake City: I need some Ugly Betty scoop. I am personally a huge fan of a Betty-Gio hookup. Any hints as to when or if that is going to happen? I can tell you that Ugly Betty is taking the Henry-Betty-Gio triangle down to the wire. One of the boys proposes in the finale, and the other one invites her to travel with him. Ugly Betty Episode 2.18 Sneak Peek Video #2

Here is the second, more substantive video sneak peek for Ugly Betty episode 2.18 (Jump) – which is the show’s season finale. A WHOLE lot in the romantic department happens in this video.
I love Ignacio’s reaction (pretty much what would be my reaction). I also love Justin’s “I’ll get the recap later” after they start discussing the subject of Betty’s virginity.

Here is the first sneak peek of the season finale, episode 2.18 (Jump) of Ugly Betty. It’s our first view of Lindsay Lohan on the show, and in her short stint here, she doesn’t disappoint.
So I was wrong, it isn’t a musical number.
There have always been elements of hit movies in Ugly Betty, (starting, of course, with The Devil Wears Prada), and now I guess it’s time for Mean Girls. THis is pretty funny, and sets up what I hope are going to be some interesting scenes and flashbacks next year. I still think Lohan’s …read more
More On Ugly Betty Season Finale
May 5, 2008 by Tom
Believe it or not, there’s other things going on in the Ugly Betty season finale (episode 2.18 – “Jump”) than the hyper-reported appearance by Lindsay Lohan. (Seriously, if you doubt that the casting of Lohan will be a ratings bonanza, just pay attention to web postings; it’s unreal!).
Most importantly, it would appear that the GioBenry love triangle is going to come to a head in this episode. ABC released the synopsis today, and the hints we’ve had the last few weeks seem to be leading to a major cliff-hanger:
Just as Gio makes Betty an incredibly romantic offer, …read more
