This week’s print version of TV Guide has a blurb about Christopher Gorham and his new show, Harper’s Island. You can view a scan here.
Gorham says, of his Ugly Betty character Henry’s relationship with Betty, “The show got us together and had to think of ways to keep us apart”.
There’s really no disagreeing with […]

ABC updated its Ugly Betty Starter Kit video (as you might recall, the first one came out just as the show was returning from the WGA strike). As usual, it is hosted by Suzuki St Pierre (Alec Mapa).
It covers all of the major happenings, in both season 1 and season 2.
You know, it’s funny - […]

While watching my favorite summer distraction the other day (I Survived a Japanese Game Show) I was quite disheartened to see the promo for ABC’s fall 2008 season. I kept waiting and waiting for Ugly Betty to show up, but there was no Betty.
Luckily, today I found the 60-second version, and there is Betty in […]

This is a shame. Ugly Betty is going off the air on Australia’s Channel 7. Next week will be the last episode for now, but the network indicated that the remaining episodes will return later in the year. (Unlike the US and many of the other places Ugly Betty airs, it is NOT summer […]

Our friend at TV Guide Michael Ausiello has posted his final Vodcast - he’s leaving TV Guide for Entertainment Weekly - and he brings up once again the unnamed Ugly Betty cast member who is using the show’s move to New York to ask for more money.
I’m trying to figure it out: who could this […]

The season finale of Ugly Betty (episode 2.18 - Jump), won its time slot for the second straight week, and got the highest ratings since episode 2.14 (24 Candles- which was the first episode back once the strike had ended).
All of broadcast television had been suffering, ratings-wise, since the strike - even reality shows. (I […]

She starts out examining the feminisation of network television, and the masculinisation of cable TV (especially reality TV). I thought it was interesting that she used Ugly Betty as an example, but I think McNamara misses the mark somewhat. […]

Image details: Bebe Spring Ad Campaign Announcement With Rebecca Romijn served by picapp.com
AfterElton.com has a two part, in-depth investigative story about the state of gays in prime time television, and Ugly Betty’s co-creator Silvio Horta is featured prominently. The story itself would have been worthy of a referencing post here, but it gets even […]

Did you see the Spring TV Preview recently posted by EW? It’s quite a handly little reference guide, and the page that focuses on Ugly Betty gives us some great new insight on the refocusing on Betty we’ve previously talked about.
After giving a recap […]

We told you last year about Ugly Betty’s debut in the Middle East. Well, it appears that Betty’s conquest of the world continues unabated. Now, Betty is going to China!
A Chinese TV station says it plans to make a Chinese version of the show. Hunan Satellite TV said in a statement that […]
