It appears that is the case.

Romijn, who played Alexis on Ugly Betty, tells People Magazine, “They’re really developing their own, very specific personas. They’re starting to think that things are hilarious, like they’re noticing the dogs as being anything other than furniture. The dogs were play-fighting the other day and they thought that was hysterical.”

Keep in mind, the two (Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip), are five months old.

There is nothing sweeter than the sound of a baby laughing uncontrollably.  BTW, did you know that their dogs are named: Taco, Better, and Bim?  You have to wonder about “Better”.  Better than what? 

Anyway, apparently, the twins are especially tickled by their parents bowling skills. 

Jerry and I went bowling last weekend and we put them in their infant seats right in the front so that they could watch us, and they thought it was hilarious," Romijn said. "It probably was. They were laughing at my score. Like, ‘Mommy can’t knock down any! It’s so funny!’ "

Parenthood is such a joy, but it is also very tiring.  "Sometimes I’m so tired, I look down at what I’m wearing, and if it’s comfortable enough to sleep in, I don’t even make it into my pajamas," said the actress. "I’m looking down, and I’m like, ‘T-shirt and stretchy pants? Yup, that’s fine. It’s pajama-y, good night. Sorry, Jerry!’ "

Rebecca Romijn in stretchy pants?  I highly doubt that Mr. O’Connell is complaining.

Yes, as you might have guessed, the series is based on the John Updike book, “The Witches of Eastwick”, along with the 1987 movie of the same name.

“Eastwick” revolves around three women who discover they have mystical powers when a mysterious man comes to town.  Jack Nicholson was marvelous in this role in the film.

Here’s an oddity from the Variety story:  Romijn is next going to be in an indie film called “The Love Child of Andy Warhol and Yoko Ono.”  Sweet.  I have no idea what it means, but the title alone makes the film intriguing.

Also, according to the story, Rebecca is still “recurring” on Ugly Betty.  Let’s hope she comes back at least a little.  I’d like to see her every now and then; when the writers actually let her be funny, she was a joy to watch.

Finally, does the woman work out 10 hours a day?  My goodness, you’d never know she just had twins.

Ugly Betty’s Rebecca Romijn has given birth to her twin girls.  Their names are Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tuli, born on Dec. 28. 

The news was announced by Howard Stern on his Sirius radio program.  “They [Romijn and husband Jerry O'Connell] had twin girls, Dolly and Charlie,” Stern said. “Rebecca likes Dolly Parton, so they named the one after Dolly Parton, and Jerry got to name the other one Charlie, but his brother’s name is Charlie — and it’s a girl Charlie.”

Mother and both children are doing well.  I have no doubt dad is doing pretty well, too.

May the two of them get a little rest (with twins, hah!), and then hopefully Romijn will return to playing Alexis on Ugly Betty (at least part time), and she and O’COnnell can make a few more Funny Or Die videos (with babies in tow).

Congrats Rebecca and Jerry!

The gag is a fictional classic sitcom “Mystique and Me’, about a marriage between a human and a shape-shifter.  The episode is “Mystique is Pregnant”.  Apparently Mystique doesn’t like being pregnant, and tries to shape-shift her way out of it.

The part where she becomes Jerry Minor is the funniest of all, including a funny nod to Silence of the Lambs.    I won’t give it away, but you have to see it.

At the end, Romijn shape-shifts into a very famous entertainment reporter/blogger.  This part is only funny because of who it is.

I sincerely hope that one day Romijn returns (at least a little) to Ugly Betty.  She really has a great comedic touch, although it could be argued that she’s funniest when paired with her husband.  At least the Ugly Betty producers left the door open for an Alexis return.

It’s Rebecca Romijn week at Ugly Betty News! Today is the beautiful actress/model’s birthday. To mimic Amanda, I won’t say which birthday – all I will say is that it rhymes with “flirty sticks”.

Romijn, who is expecting twin girls and has, according to her husband Jerry O’Connell, gotten “huge”, moved from a regular cast member to “recurring” on Ugly Betty this season.

As many of you know, Romijn was formerly married to actor John Stamos. Depending on who you ask, the subsequent breakup was mostly amicable (Stamos has been quite gracious in every statement I’ve seen him make about Romijn).

I’ll be interested to see what they do with Romijn’s character Alexis when she makes appearances on the show (maybe this spring?) She’s a new “father”, and there are all kinds of wonderful possibilities with that story line.

Alexis has been good, been evil, and at other times been clueless. I sincerely hope when she returns, we see good Alexis again.

But, I must say, she looks pretty good to me…

She IS carrying twins, and I hate to tell O’Connell, but she’s probably going to get a lot ‘huger’ before Romijn gives birth to their twin daughters.

She was heading for a meeting in West Hollywood, California, and the photographers caught the moment. I love Romijn’s top here, but let’s face it: she pretty much looks great in anything.

I’ll be very interested to know if Romijn’s role will increase again in the spring, or if the “demotion” she’s undergone had nothing to do with her pregnancy. I don’t want Alexis to go away completely – her character is too much fun!

This just tickles me to death.  Ugly Betty’s Rebecca Romijn came to Tennessee this past Sunday (and didn’t even CALL!  First Vanessa Williams, now Rebecca.  I feel so jilted )

Romijn and her hubby Jerry O’Connell are expecting twin girls (she is 5 months along), and it would seem that the reports about Rebecca naming one of her girls after Dolly Parton are not exaggerated.  She came to Dolly’s home town of Pigeon Forge, TN, to see  one of Parton’s benefit shows, and do a little sightseeing.

According to reports, she wore a green fitted tee with capri pants and sandals.  Rebecca had her hair pulled back, and wore minimal makeup. (I’m sure her ‘glow’ was sufficient).

“I’ve never seen her [Parton] perform live before.  I can’t think of a better place to see Dolly live than the place where all this wonderful music was inspired.”

She’s right.  If you’ve never been, it’s absolutely beautiful up there in the mountains. 

The trip was quick, but Romijn got to see the highlights.  She went to Dixie Stampede, dining on Southern cooking.  Then, she had a private meeting with Parton, and went to the concert, which raised money for Dolly’s Imagination Library, which delivers books to preschoolers to stimulate an interest in reading.

Rebecca was there with a friend (O’Connell didn’t come along), and clapped and sang along.  “My new favorite song is ‘Little Sparrow,’ ” she said.  Her friend wore a Dollywood “Dolly For President” T-Shirt.

“I am a big, big, big fan. My mom and sister are fans. I have been e-mailing them photos of Dolly from here all day,” Romijn said after Parton’s show.

Romijn is back in New York today, preparing for her last week of work on “Betty” before going on maternity leave.

I still say her character Alexis is going to be Daniel Jr’s “father”.

“I am basically taking my maternity leave after this weekend,” Romjin said. “This is my last weekend of freedom, and I can’t think of a better way to do it.

“That’s why I am celebrating.”

Who knew that the well-traveled and sophisticated Romijn was such a down-home person?

Question: How big a role will Rebecca Romijn-Stamos have on Ugly Betty this season? — Will
Ausiello: A bigger one than first thought. Initial buzz had her only returning for one or two episodes. But now I’m hearing she’ll be back for at least four.

It’s good that they aren’t completely throwing her under the bus, as I had feared.  Although Silvio Horta was correct – the writers seemed to have run out of interesting story lines for Alexis – she still needs to be on the show because she’s incredibly talented.  When she was first cast, I thought “How can someone who is primarily a model be a good actress, much less a comedian?”  Boy, was I wrong.  Romijn has taken her limited material and created a likable (and hate-able) and funny character.

As far as Will’s question above: if I’m not mistaken, Romijn dropped the Stamos part of her name.  She is, after all married to and having twins with Jerry O’Connell.  But, you guys can correct me if I’m wrong.

Eric Mabius looks upset here – could this be related to the courtroom scenes involving Daniel Junior and his grandparents?  I think so.  It’s also good to have Alexis and Daniel arm in arm again.  I know their on-again, off-again friendship seems unrealistic, and a little hard to keep up with, but if you have a sibling, you know that love/hate goes along with the territory.  I just wish the writers would choose “sensitive Alexis” or “cold-hearted Alexis”.

About the other thing.  Yes, these pics raise the question of whether or not Romijn is with child.  Her husband Jerry O’Connell has said publicly that they are “trying”.  But I’ve been down that road before, and apparently my speculation was totally wrong.  I apologize for that, because I know how painful such talk can be when you are going through the frustration of dealing with fertility issues.

UPDATE: It’s official; they are having twins! More on this soon!

Unfortunately, discussion of Romijn’s familial status is quite widespread, so it’s pretty hard to ignore.

If she and O’Connell are trying to have a child, I sincerely hope they have succeeded.  This is the last I will discuss the issue until we have a press release.  If it’s true, they’ll have a heck of a time working around that fact on the set.  After all, Alexis may have the frame and the trim, but the plumbing’s not there, you know?

Now, more importantly, what on earth could bring the Meades back together this way?  Wilhelmina?  Custody of Daniel Junior?  What do you think?

As you’ve probably heard, Rebecca Romijn recently made some comments to the New York Post about taking a smaller role on Ugly Betty. The headlines about this have been all over the place. I’ve seen that she’s “quitting”, or that she’s being “fired”, or any other number of things. When we look at what she actually said, we know none of these are true.

(Full disclosure – I made a big deal out of the possibility that Romijn might be pregnant. I obviously was mistaken, but was also very clear that I was NOT reporting it as fact but conjecture).

Here’s what Romijn told the Post:

“They made a tremendous amount of changes, especially with the writing staff [during the writers' strike]. And while I know I’ll be coming back next season, with all the changes, I’m not sure they can take care of my character they way they have been. So I’ll be leaving, back in a recurring capacity, but time for me to leave and find something else.”

EOnline’s Kristin comfirms that the ‘demotion’, if you want to call it that, was not Romijn’s idea.

As an aside, I still think the young teen who looks like Daniel is going to be Alexis’ son.

Now, I will miss Rebecca Romijn greatly, because Alexis had an incredible potential as a character that I think she never quite reached. The playful way that Romijn played her transgendered character was refreshing.

But, to be honest, Silvio Horta has been quite vocal about simplifying the plots and focusing on Betty, which meant that story lines that barely intercepted Betty’s might have to go. Alexis definitely falls in that category. (For that matter, so do Cliff and Kenny, but they are already recurring characters).

So, we’ll be seeing less of Alexis next season, but we will be seeing her. In a way, this ‘demotion’ is sad, but I really thought last night’s episode struck the right balance, and to be honest, I think the whole “Claire launches menopausal focused magazine with an entirely ex-con staff” has more potential, so I’d rather see Judith Light stick around.
