Mark Indelicato Has A Gal-Pal?
I was working on a story about Ugly Betty stars being at a screening of “I Love You Man”, and a photo of Mark Indelicato caused me to go in a different direction:

Of course, my first thought was, “Nice shoes!” Those never seem to go out of style. I literally had some just like them in the early 80’s. I also love the specs. Anyway, the beautiful young lady hanging off Indelicato’s arm, Hannah Ammon, looked very familiar to me. A little research showed that she’s been out with Mark quite a bit lately. For instance, here they are at the premiere of “Guys and Dolls”…

Hmmm. Then, I remembered seeing this one from early February:

There are quite a few more, as well. Now, I generally shy away from speculating about the social lives of minors, but if you’re going to pose for the paparazzi multiple times, you kind of lose any expectation on privacy.
So who is Hannah Ammon? It’s quite a mystery. According to Mark’s Fashion Week diary, she’s a “friend from school”. She’s got a page on BroadwayWorld, so it’s a safe assumption to say she’s a stage actress, although there’s no biographical info there. She has no IMDB page.
All I know is that Mark Indelicato REALLY likes her company when going to public events, and the two look fabulous together.
How long before we see Miss Ammon cast on Ugly Betty? THAT would be some interesting casting.
Mark Indelicato Does Fashion Week
February 17, 2009 by Tom
The stars of Ugly Betty have been pretty high-profile during Fashion Week this year (more on the other stars later), and none has been more out front than Mark Indelicato.
This is Mark at the Duckie Brown show in Bryant Park. Unfortunately, the captions just list his friend as, well, “friend”. They appear to be having a great time (maybe Mark can get some ideas for his jeans line?)
Indelicato also made his way to the Badgley Mischka show, and he was front row, surrounded by lots of beauties, including Ian Thorpe, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Jessica Stroup, singer Kellie Pickler, Cat DeLuna and others.
I cannot WAIT for this week’s Fashion Week episode, because each Fashion Week episode of the previous two seasons was memorable. And, hopefully, Justin will have a larger role this week; he’s such a hoot when he gets into his element.

Becki Newton And Mark Indelicato At Pat Field’s Birthday Celebration
Here are some great pics of Becki Newton at Ugly Betty Costume Designer Patricia Field’s birthday celebration.
I think this look is beautiful, but I am often reminded that I know absolutely nothing about fashion. But, I do know beauty, and Newton’s smile is quite fetching.
Also at the party at Amalia in New York City with Newton were Lily Collins , Lucy Liu, and one Mark Indelicato:
They really look like they had a ball. The parent in me says, Mark Indelicato is growing so fast!

Mark Indelicato Bowls Them Over
Here are some pics of Ugly Betty’s Mark Indelicato at the 23rd Annual Second Stage Theatre All-Star Bowling Classic fundraiser at Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge in New York City last night.
Hey, Mark has some pretty good form there.
Also at the event were model and actress Irina Pantaeva, The Daily Show’s Aasif Mandvi and former AS THE WORLD TURNS star Annie Parisse, amongst others.
It seems like we say this with all the supporting cast of Ugly Betty, but it’s a shame they can’t give Mark more to do this season. The two episodes he had major time in, 3.05, Granny Pants, and 3.09, When Betty Met YETI, he really added that campy-yet-sweet dimension the show seems to be lacking overall this season.
Unfortunately, there are only 40 minutes of airtime, and Ugly Betty has a large cast. The writers probably have a hard time each week deciding which character will get short shrift.
Nevertheless, it’s good to see Mark bowling for a good cause. He wears the bowling shirt well.

Pics of Tony Plana, Mark Indelicato on GMA
December 17, 2008 by Tom
Here are a few photos of Ugly Betty’s Mark Indelicato and Tony Plana on Good Morning America yesterday morning.
They are quite a hoot (especially one of them). Did any of you see this? I’m trying to figure out what was going on. So far, I haven’t been able to find video at YouTube or even ABC.com. The caption isn’t really much help, either.
It’s almost as if Indelicato has surprised with something. The look on Plana’s face is priceless.
If anyone saw this and can fill me in, I’d be forever grateful.
Red Carpet at ‘Shrek’ Musical: The Ugly Betty Men
December 16, 2008 by Tom
The Ugly Betty cast was out in force at the premiere of Shrek, The Musical. I’ll get to the women in a minute, but there were a couple of Ugly Betty men there as well. Here are photos of Mark Indelicato and Micheal Urie!
By the way, a UBN commenter had mentioned worries that Indelicato might be anorexic. I share those fears, but young Mark looks a lot healthier in these photos. Perhaps it’s because he’s wearing a layered outfit, though. We should be very careful about overexpressing these fears: when I was his age, I was probably about this size. Trust me when I say I’ve, er, grown.
Urie has an interesting look as well. Black on black, tie slightly undone. Having lived through the real thing, I’d say he’s sporting an 80’s look. Not in a Miami Vice or Michael Jackson kind of way, but nevertheless it reminds me of back in the day.

Marc Indelicato Working On A Clothing Line
November 28, 2008 by Tom
Ugly Betty’s Mark Indelicato is following through on his dream to start a clothing line. Indelicato was interviewed at the New York City Ballet opening celebration, and told New York Magazine all where his hypothetical line (which he’s been talking about for a while now) is in development.
“I want to do a jeans line for boys and girls that are sometimes too skinny to fit into jeans, or sometimes a little bit too husky to fit into some jeans,” Mark says.
This is good. In a tough economy, you’ve got to find a niche. Indelicato wants to relate the jeans to his Ugly Betty character, Justin: “And I think that it’s a great idea to start a jeans line by a boy that I play, who is fashionable all the time.”
Along with the jeans, Mark is working with designer Michelle Yin on dresses. “She just did drawings of three of the designs that I sent, and got fabric samples,” he said.
Instead of starting off at more upscale stores, Indelicato envisions selling at discount stores such as Wal-Mart and Target, taking the current economy into account. If successful, he’s then work his way into the swankier stores.
Smart kid.

Mark Indelicato At Twinkle By Wenlan Show
September 9, 2008 by Tom
Like I said, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is in full swing, and the Ugly Betty cast is taking full advantage. Here are some pics of young Mark Indelicato at the Twinkle by Wenlan spring 2009 fashion show.
Image details: Twinkle By Wenlan - Front Row - Spring 09 MBFW served by picapp.com
No doubt, Indcelicato looks as sharp as can be here. He’s growin’ up good, as we say down my way. I wish, however, that he’d flash a smile. He looks so darned serious. Perhaps he’s going through a tortured artist teenage phase (I did).
Nevertheless, I’m glad he got rid of the swoop haircut from last season.
You know, with all these Fashion Week goings-on, hopefully the Ugly Betty producers can use some of the footage. It would make sense to me.

Mark Indelicato at Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day (US Open)
August 25, 2008 by Tom
It’s tennis day here at Ugly Betty News!
Ugly Betty’s Mark Indelicato was one of the celebrities that appeared at Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day at the US Open in Flushing, Queens. The event was held at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre.
“Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day kicks off the US Open each year bringing together the hottest young musical acts and tennis’ brightest stars,” said Pierce O’Neil, Chief Business Officer, USTA (United States Tennis Association). “It’s a fun-filled day for the entire family while also honoring the legacy of Arthur Ashe, a true humanitarian and one of our sport’s great ambassadors.”
Also appearing were players Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Ana Ivanovic, Novak Djokovic, and music by Demi Lovato of Disney’s “Camp Rock,” Colby O’Donis and Menudo.
Indelicato looks like a natural, although his Ugly Betty character, Justin, hasn’t quite got the sports thing down. It looks like a fun time, though! I love the oversized raquet. I’m REALLY hoping the United States Tennis Association releases video of this!

Happy Birthday Mark Indelicato!
July 16, 2008 by Tom
I’d like to wish Ugly Betty’s Mark Indelicato a happy birthday! He is 14 today. Here’s an interview Mark on The View sometime last year:
14, for boys, is at once a wonderful and rough age. I sincerely hope he has more wonderful than rough.
Being a star on a hit TV show doesn’t hurt, though. Indelicato’s Justin is a groundbreaking character; I don’t think he gets enough credit for playing the part almost flawlessly. He adds enough camp to make newcomers to Ugly Betty ask, “what’s up with the kid?”, but he is no flaming caricature.
In fact, Justin reminds me, almost exactly, of a couple of kids I remember from high school. That’s good writing and acting.
Some of the better moments from season 2 involved Justin - my favorite was when Henry caught him making out with his - at the time - girlfriend.
I am very curious what season 3 holds for his character. No matter what, I’m sure Indelicato will make it interesting.
So, happy birthday, Mark! I hope you enjoy it, and don’t spend all day working!
