Ugly Betty Premiere Moved to October 16th!

I don’t know what the heck this means. ABC issued a press release saying that the 2-hour season premiere of Ugly Betty has been moved back a week to October 16th.
I have no idea what their reasoning is (some big competing event? something big on cable?), but I’m pretty angry about this. How many times can they jack around Ugly Betty fans with scheduling changes? We are very loyal, but this is ridiculous!
But, I want to know why this decision was made almost at the last minute. We’ve already had to wait longer than most other shows’ fans to get new episodes.
I have BIG hopes that the changes in the show are going to pave the way for its survival, but it’s hard enough to get people to stay home on a Friday, much less when fans aren’t even sure when the show is going to actually air.
I hope in the next few days someone at ABC reveals the reason for the move, and I hope it’s one made to actually help the show.
Anyway, mark your calendars for October 16th. If it changes again, I’ll let you know. And, I promise you, I will be cursing.

ABC are really losing the plot here. though i am under the impression that they no longer want to be associated with this show. if so, then ugly betty are better off with another network, who won’t screw around with them in the way ABC has, on so many ocassions. not just this one.
This is starting to piss me off! Ugly Betty is my favorite show – with some of my favorite actors, but ABC is ruining it for me. It’s like they’re trying to kill the show off. KICK ROCKS ABC!!!!!
I don’t even live in the U.S. but I’m so angry about this. I’d say I am the biggest Ugly Betty fan in Britain, and I cant believe ABC are messing around with this new series. I hope that theres LOTS of promotion on ABC stations at least to compensate for them moving it at such short notice.
Here in the UK its moving to Mondays on Channel 4 from next week (were only on ep.15 of series 3!!!) but the ratings are still really good.

I really don’t know what to think about this, but when I first read this notice, I seriously just wanted to cry. I’ve been waiting so long for Ugly Betty to premiere and now we all have to wait longer. I honestly don’t know WHY abc would do this…we better get answers! Seriously the network has moved the show up (during May Sweeps when it came back earlier), moved it to the side (from Thursday to Friday), moved it down (from 8 to 9) and now it’s moving it down again (putting the premiere off for another week). The actors must sure be very nauseous and tired by now with all the moving! I know that the move was just decided today since this morning, the ABC website said that the Ugly Betty premiere would be next Friday, October 9th.
Well, at least 2 clips from the season premiere were released today (http://www.cinemablend.com/television/Ugly-Betty-2009-Fall-TV-Preview-20171.html) in addition to a new mode after hours episode. Those both were comforting.
There was also a spoiler in Michael Ausiello’s column that just left me confused (A pregnancy? A fire?)
I also loved the new cast photos (http://beckinewtonweb.org/images/displayimage.php?album=239&pos=0). Betty looks especially pretty! If I had that many butterflies on me, I would be waving my hands frantically trying to get them all off!

Again??? I was so looking forward to the season premiere & started to count til the day…now I have to add on another week.,,crap. Why does ABC keep doing that?? Funny, I haven’t really seen any promos for UB to promote the show..you would think the network would have started by now..
Go to abc.com (under contact us section) and put a complaint about delaying the show’s premier. When they see so many fans complainting they’ll know that fans DO care about the show and yet they don’t care about us.
This is absolute rubbish…UB fans were jerked around enough last season and its not just in the states either. In the UK we are currently on season 3 ‘Theres no Place like Mode’ and twice now UB has been moved in favour for A COOKING SHOW!!! and some late night version of a crappy soap and both times no announcements were made after the preceding episode so I settled down to watch and was presented with Gordon Ramsays Ugly Mug. It really hacks me off!! Rant Over
If I were the paranoid type, which I sort of am, I would think that they are testing us to see how passionate UB fans are about our show.

THEY KEEP ON CHANGING THE TIMES SO WE COULD WATCH SOME STUPID SHOW ABOUT SOMETHING NO ONE CARES ABOUT. WE LOVE UGLY BETTY AND I THINK THAT IT IS WRONG FOR THEM TO CHANGE THE TIME. STUPID!!!!!!!

This scares me honestly. They have totally abused Ugly Betty to the point where I feel they are plotting it’s demise. Why all this random move, this bothers me and I truly hope they are doing this for the show and not some hidden agenda of theirs
why ,there is no reason to delay the season 4. So many people love it.
Josh and Queen Willie- glad you’re representing all of us UK ugly betty fans and you have echoed my sentiments exactly. it’s not just ABC guilty of this, but channel 4 as well. what with their meddling of the schedule. why don’t these tv networks and stations get a grip and stop insulting the fans with their ridiculous decisions?
I think that I’ve figured it out… Some genius at ABC just realized that October 9th is the beginning of the Columbus Day holiday weekend, and holiday weekends aren’t the best time for new episodes of TV shows because so many people travel on long weekends. What I don’t know is what the effect this date change will have on subsequent episodes. It might just push the Bahamas episode past November sweeps, unless they double up and do another set of back-to-back episodes one week in order to catch up.
Dear UGLYBETTYNEWS followers, in support of Ugly Betty, please go to the following link and sign the petition, I’m really scared they are trying to cancel this amazing show. I have faith in this season ad I don’t want it to go down like this. Sign the petition, and then go to CONTACT ABC at the bottom of the page and fill out a message about how great the show is/why it shouldn’t be canceled. Tom, just curious what are the chances that if UGLY BETTY did get canceled, it would be picket up on a different network? Does that happen a lot?

ABC U SUCK!The Ugly Betty fanbase is strong and they’re not going to get rid of it w/out a fight.
That stinks! Ugly Betty is my favorite show, but I must say that I am losing interest. First, the writers strike, then the “hiatus” for the failed “mom” show last Spring and now the premiere starting mid October? Can’t be good.. it seems that ABC is jacking them around.. Maybe they should jump over to another network like AMC before Mad Men.

Timmeh, a canceled show getting picked up by another network is not unheard of, but it is relatively rare. The main reason ABC picked up “Scrubs” after NBC dumped it is because ABC owns the show, even though it aired on NBC, so it is worth their while to produce more episodes for syndication, because they make a certain amount of money for each episode in their syndication package. This is the same reason why CBS picked up “Medium” after NBC gave it the boot at the end of last season.
I’ve been patiently waiting for Ugly Betty to start new season. TV Guide says Friday, October 9. Couldn’t find it listed on cable so I just looked it up online. Very disappointed to have to wait again!!!! ABC, please do a better job to get the word out!!!! We’re waiting!!!
I am another upset fan as well. This sux. I wish ABC would get their heads out their anuses and show some respect for the fans that make this show so popular. No one likes it when a person or entity breaks their promised time or deadline. ABC needs to get a clue.

NOT ONLY AM I DISAPPOINTED THAT THE PREMIERE IS BEING DELAYED, BUT THIS IS HOW I COME TO FIND OUT TODAY WHEN I WAS SO EAGERLY AWAITING TO SEE IT TODAY!!! I HAD AN UGLY BETTY PARTY PLANNED WITH FRIENDS!! IT IS SO DISTASTEFUL TO HEAR OF THIS DISRESPECT TO THE SHOW AND ITS FANS. I will stop watching any other ABC shows and tell my friends the same if they dont get their act together on Ugly Betty. This is my family’s favorite show as well!

was next week. What BS since they advised for today. Thanks ABC, I was looking forward to having a nice evening to myself and you manage to ruin my quiet evening. Should I just give

I’m really glad I read this… kept thinking my DVR didn’t work last night! Ugh. 1 more week. However, that’s what I thought last week, so we’ll see!
Good Idea Carmen, because the less viewers the more guilty they will feel for moving up to OCTOBER 16. I love UB, but I might not watch it, so their ratings could go down a little, and they will know not to postpone the show , so their ratings and viewings could go back up. I was also looking forward to a quite evening by myself, watching Ugly Betty gasping and being shocked, lol.
I knew I didn’t get it wrong. So embarrasing I had a Ugly Betty count down going on for a week on my facebook page. MAde sure the boy was in bed early. Had made my special dip for it. grrr…
