February 5, 2009 by Tom
Welcome to the live blog for Ugly Betty episode 3.13, Kissed Off. Here’s what’s going to happen:
Betty contemplates making a personal decision to help her family and finances. But things keep sidetracking her – like the fact that sexy neighbor Jesse (guest star Val Emmich) is suddenly interested in her again. Meanwhile, Daniel tries to hide his tracks as Connor is determined to find out the identity of the mystery man who stole Molly’s heart.
This one’s going to be a good one!
Come and join us at 8/7c!

I’m almost done with this ep, and so far, no sign of Christina! My mom mentioned that we hadn’t seen her yet, and I literally thought “Christina who?” I didn’t even remember she was on the show! Plus, if they’re on break till March or so…. this’ll be the loooongest TV pregnancy ever!
Yeah, its sad Christina didn’t make it to this episode. And it’s also sad what we feared was turned into reality: Betty moved back home.
I don’t really mind her as a character. What bothers me is the writers pulling all the fuss about Betty and her independent life of season 3 and they dropping the idea mid-season. It’s like they are improvising too much…
FINALLY! that promo looked amazing. finally finally finally ugly betty is getting back on track. lets hope it gets back to its original greatness. just like i predicted SOMETHING NEEDED TO HAPPEN! woo
Oh! I’ve been noticing in other forums some other people had that same feeling that this season they might be trying to mirror the Gio and Betty relationship with the Jesse/Betty affair. There were many similarities in this episode. Jesse being so self-centered about his music and Betty doing him unconditional favors just to end up with her heart broken just like Gio did last season. Of course, Gio was in love and Betty was only crushed, but I hope you get what I mean.
Anyway, if we look into the general picture of this season and now that we know
*spoiler*
…that new love interest Matt is going to be a little bit Henry-like…
*end spoiler*
I wonder how much of Henry/Betty they are going to bring into their relationship. Wait, they are not going to make Betty pregnant of another guy, are they?
… Horta, don’t mess with me.
I didn’t like the way things ended between Jesse and Betty. Of course, I’m a Gio girl but I think it’s unrealistic that Betty is always the person to break things off. Also, Jesse didn’t seem self absorbed before. They had a decent time at her place so why would he change on the date? It’s just an easy way for the writers to write out Jesse and make Betty look triumphant against the flawed guy. The reason why I liked Gio was because he was the one guy who told Betty SHE was the person in the wrong and treated him like dirt. Betty isn’t the perfect human being and even though she isn’t really ugly on the outside she isn’t beautiful either. She has poor fashion sense and there are plenty of tall, skinny attractive women in New York City. Most young guys in NYC are quite vain – I know because I live here! They know the options are plentiful and most cute guys still wouldn’t give Betty a shot to even go out on a date. I think it’s time for Betty to learn a lesson by looking at her own flaws rather than someone else’s.
