Ausiello: Ugly Betty Spoiler about Marc

Most of the spoiler news about Ugly Betty lately has been surrounded around Betty and her family. Refreshingly, EW’s Michael Ausiello has an interesting little tidbit about Marc:
Question: We haven’t had Ugly Betty scoop in forever! What’s next? — Sidra
Ausiello: Marc’s getting a new roommate…But the show isn’t adding any new cast-members.
Hmmm – the possibilities are intriguing.
The obvious one would be the return of David Blue as Cliff. No doubt Michael Urie and Blue were great together, in an odd-couple sort of way. This is the possibility I am wishing for the most. However, when we last saw Cliff, he was leaving Marc in tears. Can they put that Genie back in the bottle?
Who else might it be?
- Wilhelmina? – Maybe, but aren’t they together a little too much already? It would be interesting to see a topical storyline where Willy gets caught up in the mortgage crisis.
- Daniel? – Has the possibility of being funny, but way too gimmicky for my tastes.
- Christina? – Just can’t make any sense out of that one.
- Amanda? – This one is the most likely possibility. If Betty does move back in with her family (please, no!), Amanda will have nowhere to go. Could the writers be setting up a Marc and Mandy spin-off?
Anyway, like I said, the possibilities are very intriguing. What do you think?

i’d like it to be amanda, because well, they are great together and hilarious- although it would be interesting to see him with say christina. i think there will be some intriguing scenes and exchanges between the pair of them. as for cliff, i think i have a feeling their relationship is over, after marc confessing about his cheating.
Well, I’d love it if it was Cliff (I really miss him!) but after how his relationship with Marc ended, I doubt it. Of course it could be Amanda.. or maybe even Christina. Willie’s probably too busy chasing after Connor to be keeping an eye on her surrogate. Or maybe that’s not it, I don’t know. But in the Ugly Betty world, the possibilities are endeless. I mean, if Betty and Amanda are living under the same roof and actually get along well, I believe anything can happen.
I’d LOVE for it to be Amanda.
If not Christina would be my second choice, if only so that we could see more of her. Also, liked their montage in 1.16.
The Daniel thing just seems like it would be a repeated joke about the gay guy living with the straight guy, and people thinking they were a couple, and marc being uncomfortable with Daniel bringing girls back. Bit predictable.
Also, I agree that Marc and Wili spend enough time together as it is.
So yeah, Amanda or Christina. I don’t think Cliff would come back now. It was good at the time but the relationship’s finished and I think it would get boring if it dragged on through all the drama like Betty/Henry.
someone mentioned on the ugly betty live journal website that david blue hasn’t been told by the producers whether his character, cliff will return at some point. this could be confirmation that they might not bring him back.
i miss cliff too, and i still dislike the whole marc cheating on his boyfriend storyline.
btw, good point leatherbee- if betty and amanda can live under the same roof, then i don’t see why christina and marc can make it work too.
