Vanessa Williams Kicks Off Cancer Fundraiser
December 1, 2008 by Tom
Ugly Betty’s Vanessa Williams kicked off a very unique breast cancer fundraising campaign yesterday. She was in Mount Kisco, NY, helping with a fundraiser for “Relay For Life”.
Vanessa drove a pink post into the ground, christening the “Post For A Cure” campaign, in which Campanella Fence Center of Mahopac, New York will donate one dollar to Relay for Life for every post put in the ground through April 18.
I wish I could have seen that. If she did it in character as Wilhelmina, that poor stake would definitely be all the way in the ground, maybe a few inches beneath!
The business owner, Anthony Campanella said in a prepared statement, “What better way to raise money to beat this disease. Fences are my business. Posts are symbols for stability and strength. Fences are a symbol of security and safety.”
Much kudos to Vanessa Williams for helping out with this great cause!
