Ugly Betty Episode 3.09 Live Blog
November 20, 2008 by Tom
Welcome to our weekly gathering of Ugly Betty fanatics, otherwise known as the Ugly Betty News episode Live Blog. This week’s episode is 3.09, When Betty Met YETI:
Competition gets fierce when Betty and Marc both apply to YETI, the Young Editors Training Program that could be their ticket out of assistant-land . . . but there’s only room for one of them. Meanwhile Justin makes an unlikely friend, Daniel finds himself attracted to Molly (guest star Sarah Lafleur) and Wilhelmina does her best to get Connor’s (Grant Bowler) attention.
This will probably be a catty and fierce episode…for a while. Something tells me Marc and Betty are going to end up working together before it’s all over.
I love that they are continuing the love square (rectangle? parallelagram?).
So, join us at 8/7 central tonight!

Thanks for letting me join the live chat. I really liked the episode. By the way. I want to fix a mistake. The name of the writer is Brian Tanen (not Chris). Either way, I am loving his writing!!!
I loved “The Kids are Alright” and now “When Betty met YETI” is one of my favorites this season.
Tonight’s episode was great. Who needs La Lohan?
Which is hard for a Lindsay fan to say, but I have to be honest. I think this child star needs to go to say the Actor’s Studio and hone her craft. I know some people from here and elsewhere disagreed with me about Lindsay Lohan on UB, that aside from the first few scenes of her final episode, she did not bring it. Seems the producer/director/cast agreed with me. As I did not see this interview here, thought some who may have missed it may find it an interesting read…
Vanessa Opens Up About Lindsay/America Feud
Oliver Coleman, OK!, 11.11.08 – Since the news broke last month that Lindsay Lohan’s guest-starring role on ABC hit Ugly Betty had been cut back by two episodes amid rumors of on-set tension between the scandal-magnet actress and the show’s star, America Ferrera, the actors on the Betty cast have all been downplaying these reports. But now, in an exclusive OK! interview, co-star Vanessa Williams finally begins to hint at the source of the troubles.
“We’re such a tight cast, and a well-oiled machine, that to jump on and to rise to the occasion is the true test,” the actress told OK! at Monday night’s Mayor’s Awards ceremony at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. “We’ve had Patti LuPone, who’s a Broadway legend; Bernadette Peters, who just started with us last week — So there are people who have been in the industry for years and have had tremendous accolades. And I think Lindsay playing the part that she did, which was Kimmy — kind of a bratty high school nightmare for Betty — I think she did her part.”
Vanessa, who still maintains that any problems were “blown out of proportion,” seemed to say that the demands the show’s star places on herself might have been a source of tension. “America is the consummate professional,” she explained. “She works very hard, and she’s also she’s very invested in her character. So if you don’t come with the same drive and panache… I think that’s were the unbalance was.”
However, added the model-turned-actress, “I think by the time Lindsay was finished, she loved us and she wanted to stay longer.”
