OK, I have no doubt some of you already knew this, but I catch on slowly. It appears ABC and Ugly Betty honchos are listening to us. I would say listening to me, but I have no delusions of grandeur.
Last season, I complained that a pretty good episode (2.09 - Giving Up The Ghost) of Ugly Betty was seen by NOBODY, because it aired on Thanksgiving in the US.
Well, as I recently labored on keeping my season 3 page up to date, I noticed there has been no press release from ABC about any episode airing on November 27th, which happens to be Thanksgiving. Most of the Ugly Betty sites I frequent to for information have the episode entitled “Bad Amanda” numbered 3.11 (as did I), assuming there would be a 3.10 that airs 11/27.
After a little more snooping around the ABC site, I discovered that A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is airing 11/27.
So, for those of you keeping score, “Bad Amanda” will actually be episode 3.10 . And Ugly Betty will be spared from Holiday Hell, unless I am totally off base about this. And for that, I am truly thankful. Although I’ve been reporting that Betty’s ratings have been on an uptick, it still is not out of danger. The Renew/Cancel Index at TV By The Numbers still has Ugly Betty in the “possible cancellation by May” category. (Don’t panic - it’s closer to “safe” than most other shows in that category).
UB cannot afford another Thanksgiving with sub-par ratings, so ABC is doing the show a HUGE favor. Not only that, but to be totally honest, after my yearly foray into gluttony, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving , and football, seem more appropriate. Nobody loves Ugly Betty more than I, but Thanksgiving is Thanksgiving.
Woot.

Well, my Thanksgiving is never… as Thanksgiving-y as most people. I usually have no problem catching Ugly Betty when we’ve all eatened and such.
Quite sad I will have to wait a week for UB. But good news is that more good ratings, I guess.
Hello Tom,
I just read the arcticle you just do and I just a question you ask if I may.
Regarding the renewal of “Ugly Betty” is this means that this site said that “Ugly Betty” will not be renewed or are is it just a hypothesis that can be happening is that CBA based on these percentages?
I’m sorry but I do not understand very well here in France we do not have that kind of thing.
So I just want to make that happen will happen to our dear Betty especially since I remember that ABC had signed a contract for 2 years with Silvio Horta.
Please answer me Tom, you’re very nice because I panic the idea that there no longer see this superb series …
Escusa me my English is not terrible.
I wish you a good day …
(Escuse-me my english is not terrible).
I’m sorry I put CBA or place ABC, I’m really reached today … LoL
