Lindsay Lohan: Poison
October 23, 2008 by Tom
So, the internet rumors are true. I was waiting to see the story in a reliable source, and the New York Post is close enough. According to the Post, Lindsay Lohan’s run on Ugly Betty was cut from six episodes down to four (I’m assuming they are counting the 30 second appearance on 2.18, Jump). The stated reason is LiLo’s outrageous behavior, and a running feud with the show’s star America Ferrera.
According to a production source, “It was a mess. Lindsay would show up every day with an entourage of people. She smoked 24/7, and after she left, they had to repaint her dressing room it was such a mess.”
Also, Lohan “would obsessively cut pictures of herself out of the tabloids like she was creating some sort of scrapbook and refused to go on set until America was there – it was a power play.”
Talk about confessions of a drama queen…
There was apparently trouble during the filming of tonight’s episode, 3.05 – “Granny Pants”. Part of the plot is about how Lohan, as Kimmie, would “de-pants” Ferrera. But Ferrera exacts her revenge and pulls down Lohan’s pants instead. “Lindsay wasn’t wearing any underwear,” the unnamed source said.
More drama (you’re not going to believe some of this) after the jump.
An anonymous Lohan pal disagrees with this account. “Bull****! Lindsay wears underwear all the time now. She was wearing a G-string. And it was America’s fault. They were rehearsing the scene and America wasn’t supposed to pull Lindsay’s pants down – but she did. Lindsay was so embarrassed, she started crying.”
OK, I’ll give Lindsay the benefit of the doubt and say that this episode was the result of a misunderstanding about the meaning of the word “rehearsal”. But you have to admit, this is funny: “Lindsay wears underwear all the time now.” It’s a relevant fact that everyone from Gordon Brown to Joe the Plumber has seen Lohan’s privates, through her deliberate actions. The genie’s out of the bottle, I’d say.
The friend also had something to say about the other problems. The pal says the cast of “Fringe” used Lohan’s dressing room. “So maybe they messed it up. And an entourage? Yeah, she had her sober companion with her, as well as her manager, assistant and [girlfriend] Samantha Ronson. Her publicist was there a couple of times. But so what?”
Then it gets insane. The friend blames Ferrera for all of this. “America was mean to Lindsay. Producers give her too much power. Lindsay didn’t do the last two episodes because America didn’t like her and got her kicked off.”
They gave her too much power? Lindsay, let me say this slowly:
America: Star. It’s her show.
Lohan: Guest Star.
Ferrera’s spokesperson says this: “America is grateful to have had her on the show and thinks everyone should tune in to see how great the episodes are.”
As for whose story to believe – only one of the two is surrounded by dysfunction and tabloid drama.
Her appearances haven’t helped the ratings. This experiment wasn’t worth it. We’ll just have to chalk it up to another bad decision from season 2.

Tom, you are back! Well as you said, i wonder how much of this is true. We knew she would be in 4 episodes before, right? when we read that script you posted where Daniel and Betty are talking about what a “bad seed” Kimmi was? Which episode was it?
Anyway. Probably that´s just gossip. But you are right, America is the star of the show so LiLo must just stick to the rules. Maybe this is just bad press to cause some commotion.
And you are right, so far her appearances haven´t helped on ratings… just like Rodriguez did. (I just had to say that… its in my contract…)
i can’t believe i am saying “you are right” so many times. Maybe it is my subconscious trying to make up for me blaming you about not being “very pro-friendly” in my earlier posts.
Tom, you do forgive me. After all… there’s nothing wrong about telling the truth among friends. Because we are still friends, right? *pokes*
I meant pro-Gio.
I need my morning coffee…
B: of course!
There’s a little part of me that thinks this might be a two-way publicity stunt. The real-life “plot” seems to mirror the plot of tonight’s episode.
But, like I said, I trust the Post, as far as tabloids go. Chaos seems to follow Lohan everywhere.
No that not true and America Ferrera not mean person.I heard she is very nice person real life.Maybe she had a bad mood, when talk to Lindsay Lohan,my opinion.
Well, thank God she’s gone. I really like her acting, but with all this commotion it’s not worth it. And like most people, I find it easier to believe that Lilo was a mess than that America was mean
I knew they never should have had Lohan on the show. That girl needs to do some growing up. She should be grateful UB gave her a stint on the show. From what I know of America, I am sure she was pleasant to a point, and don’t blame her for not putting up with that crap.America IS a star.
I heard someone else say this on another website but I wish they’d go back to hiring just real good actors period, not divas. What about that girl who played Trina, betty’s best friend in high school from season 1, where they flashed back to prom?!
I bet she wouldn’t be a diva. Ok I’m guilty, she is a friend of mine! BUT she is so professional and great to work with. Bring back Rachel Style as Trina:

xo,
Sammi
its americas show! she shouldnt have to put up with this and lindsay did a good performance and i thought she cleaned up for ugly betty. guess not.. she blogged taht they were all friendly but maybe this was before any of this drama
You know Sammi. I think that too. The former classmate of Betty seemed like a potential character to be in the show for a nice guest arc with Betty.
Lindsay Lohan wasn’t that entertaining as Kimmi. Maybe it was the story they wrote for her. Anyway, this whole buzz of America vs LiLo seems more like dirty marketing to lure people to watch the episodes.
i agree bea when you said that lindsay didn’t make kimmi as interesting or entertaining enough for us to take her seriously as a character. i know we were supposed to hate kimmi, given what she did to betty as she was a bully, but given she was was/is a huge star outside ugly betty than america herself, you would’ve thought she could’ve made the most out of the material she was given.
but then again, it could’ve been because of the lines lindsay had and of which she had to work with as kimi.
It is probably a publicity stunt. I’m not sure that’s a good things, though. The last thing America needs after that eye-roll thing is another senseless tabloid story.
