Ugly Betty Episode 3.07 Promo Photos
October 10, 2008 by Tom
Here is the first set of promo photos from Ugly Betty episode 3.07, “Crush’d”. First, the synopsis:
Betty works overtime to get the attention of her cute neighbor, struggling musician Jesse (guest star Val Emmich). Meanwhile, Betty’s life gets even more complicated when a maxed out and suddenly homeless Amanda becomes her temporary roommate. And in other Mode developments, Marc vacillates when Cliff (guest star David Blue) wants them to move in together.

This one looks like it will be heavy on the comedy. Some of the action takes place at a party (it has a theme – but I can’t quite place it, so it’ll be interesting to see what’s going on).
The Amanda/Betty storyline will be great for a few episodes. Did you notice they set it up last night with Amanda’s confession that she’s broke? And, weirdly enough, Betty and Amanda won’t even be the most obvious “Odd Couple” of the week…
If Cliff and Marc move in together, the show can have its own “Gay Odd Couple” plot lines. The only thing missing will be the Pigeon sisters (brothers?).
It’s obvious from some of the photos that Betty is going to become Jesse’s groupie. (Thus, the episode title) This sets up some comedy AND (heartbreaking) drama.
More photos after the jump. (And more to come…stay tuned!)

Oh, I really hope Marc and Cliff move in together! Ahh, I can’t wait to see Cliff again!
And Amanda as Betty’s roommate? I’m expecting a hilarious, CRAZY episode!
uhoh i didnt see coach diaz? is he supposed to be a regular now please?! i want hilda to have that and he is a good actor
Ugh. Why is that my reaction whenever I see Jessie? Is Betty that naive to become this guy’s “groupie”?
And where is Gio? I have a feeling the writers will write a stupid excuse to get out of this particular storyline that won’t be respectful to Gio’s character in Season 2. So, he’s going to be a jerk to Betty now? Whatever.
Awesome, cant wait see new episode. But I’m afraid if Amanda make fun or hurt Betty, when she come and see Betty’s apt,but wait and see find out.Who the man-he talk to Hilda on pic 2.
Greg, Coach Diaz was never intended to be a regular character. I believe that he only signed on for four episodes this season. My number could be off, though.
We all already know Betty’s heart is gonna end up broken, but I really hope Amanda doesn’t have anything to do with that.
I don’t think I’m saying this because I’m Getty. I’m pretty sure.
I agree, Tom, that Betty is becoming a groupie and that bothers me. She’s 24. I know that Horta keeps saying that she’s going to grow up, but I’d rather see her go after a man as an adult, confident woman–not like a teenager falling all over someone like he’s a god. I know we haven’t seen it yet, but this is my fear and these promo pics aren’t helping me either.
Those promo pictures show Betty cheering for her neighbour. I don’t see anything groupie about it. That said, I wouldn’t mind her lusting after Jesse but I really want to see what happens between her and Gio. I can understand why he’s mad although I don’t think he hates her. He loves making life hard for Betty and I’m sure he was exaggerating. I’m glad he’ll be back anyway.
Jess, I’ll grant that “groupie” may be a little strong, but let me explain.
I’m a musician. In my clubbing days (er,a FEW years ago), we had a group of female friends that followed us to every gig. They were just friends, but we jokingly called these ladies “groupies”. I sometimes forget that the term can be derogatory, so when I used the term, I was using it in a good-natured way.
Anyway, I was going by the first line in ABC’s synopsis:
“Betty works overtime to get the attention of her cute neighbor, struggling musician Jesse ”
As for Gio, I am at once VERY interested in what’s going to happen, and apprehensive.
If Silvio and the writers listened to me, then by the time the end of the episode rolls around, Betty and Gio will have made up and will be permanent friends.
Omg Amanda As Bettys Room mate is going to be hilarious … cant wait !
“If Silvio and the writers listened to me, then by the time the end of the episode rolls around, Betty and Gio will have made up and will be permanent friends.”
I’m sure they will make up. Gio cares too much about her to hate her and never be able to forgive her. I even think the “I hate you” part was something Betty imagined.
Remeber Grin and Bear it when Betty thought Daniel said “I think you’re a cheater” and imagined her bear attack her with red eyes.
Yeah, I’m with Tomatish. I think Gio’s “I hate you” was in Betty’s imagination. Notice he’s pushing the sandwich cart when he says it? Gio doesn’t push the sandwich cart anymore. I don’t think he’ll be all too pleased with Betty at the beginning of the episode, but Gio is way too well-balanced a person to start declaring he “hates” a girl just because she decided not to date him. I’m pretty sure that’s all in Betty’s head.
And I actually really like what it looks like they’re doing with the Jesse plotline. Seeing Betty get just a little bit giddy is fine by me; I’m 24 years old myself, and I like to think I’m fairly mature and well-balanced, but I admit to sometimes regressing to 12-year-old flirt tactics. Everyone gets a little silly when it comes to romance.
It’ll be good for Betty to be crushing on someone who doesn’t return the feelings, too. Girl’s been waaay too lucky in the love department lately!
ugh that is true about coach diaz. i want hilda to just have something permanent so shes not all over the place and she has one storyline to focus on, remember herbalaux?
