Ugly Betty Episode 3.03 Live Blog
October 9, 2008 by Tom
It’s Thursday! It must be time for our weekly Ugly Betty Live Blog! This week’s episode is 3.03: Crimes of Fashion.
In this episode, we’ll get introduced to Mark Consuelos‘ detective character, (it appears) everyone will get arrested, and Papi is going to discover Hilda’s secret that Tony is married.
High comedy, high drama.
As usual, I’ll put the transcript after the jump when available.
Transcript:

Tom, there’s a new Mode website up. Modeny.com. It’s like a real fashion site, but with a Letter From the Editor written by Wilhelmina and a hysterical blog by Amanda.
Julie -I’m SO on it! I’ll be blogging about that first thing in the morning (have live blog and recap to do tonight).
That site is so cool! This is what I wanted them to do with SoCuteItsSick.com! I wonder if Amanda will put me on her blogroll.
WOAH! omg who saw that coming.. someone mentioned the posibility of dj being alex’s which i thought was so clever but never thought it was true. the ending was SOO sad i could almost cry but the softer side of wilhelmina, which im hoping is only temporary was great to see. AMAZING episode even though ill miss Alexis : (
please comment back i want to know peoples thoughts on this! i wanted to cry watching alexis leave. and i love when they have sad moments at the end they always show everyone. the main focus was alexis, but they showed hilda too. i feel like daniel is still gonna keep and love dj though. ahhh!
Does anyone know what song was playing during the finals scene of tonight’s episode (10/9)? Female singer? Lyrics had the word “breathe” in it? Anyone?
I read the live blog just now - I will have to try to participate next time, if there is one. Partly because I am surprised to see several comments about bad the writing was for this episode. Because I know I would have said many different things than were said tonight. Because my mind was flying… and still is. Forgive me then if all I see are silver linings through the dark clouds… just like Betty.
Now I only came aboard UB for the final episode of Season 2, as I am fan of Lindsay Lohan. Now while I think she has yet to do anything remarkable on this show, which is due to her thin character, and perhaps Lindsay’s own acting rustiness, but I have her to thank for getting me here.
Now I thought UB Season 2 finale was nothing special. I only tuned in to Season 3 again because of Lindsay. But what a surprise. Each episode just keeps getting better & better.
Tonight right after watching the hilarious scenes with investigative team of Marc, Mandy & Betty sleuthing the attempted homicide, I was so thrilled I found this show. I haven’t been this excited about a show in years, since Buffy The Vampire Slayer, was in its prime. I don’t know if the stories will sustain my excitement, but for now I’m so grateful I’m still aglow. Partly because of the writing, the humor, the drama, the pacing, the entire cast, but especially Becki, Michael, and of course, America. Their characters are the best trio since Buffy, Willow and Xander. Betty is my favorite character since Buffy. Now Buffy the show is my fav series of all time, along side Twin Peaks. UB is not on par with Buffy (yet?), but what is? But it’s being spoken about in the same exalted company, and that’s something to silly old me.
Granted I hardly ever watch prime time TV. But that’s just it. Because I am usually disappointed. I have been watching it since the early 60’s, so I’ve seen a lot, and it got old. Now I mostly watch cable if I watch at all. Usually I’m online. But in just these few weeks, Ugly Betty has become the first prime-time TV I can’t miss in years. Cheers!
Brynn - the song that played tonight is by a group called two of cups…their album called “dirty hands clean” was just released on iTunes..you should check it out!
Wonder who’ll get the reward? Betty solved it, but what’ll she do with $100,000?
I did not see enough Daniel Jr in this episode. And honestly, I found it pretty disappointing that Alexis turned out to be the father.I know that it’s just a tv show but I don’t think that the boy should have someone who got a sex change as their parent.
Hi, I was wondering what the song was in the last scene?
whoops, sorry i guess somebody already answered that…
