New Ugly Betty Hints From Ausiello

In case you haven’t seen it, in this week’s Ausiello files, our favorite spoiler sleuth has three blurbs about Ugly Betty:
Question: Ugly Betty question for you: Will Daniel ever be editor in chief of Mode again? — Jason
Ausiello: I think there’s a really good chance he’ll officially reclaim his perch atop Mode’s masthead by episode 3.
Question: What happened to Marc and Cliff on Ugly Betty? Did they break up and no one told me? — Todd
Ausiello: Nope, they’re still together. They have one of those special TV relationships that take place primarily off screen (see also: Chase and Cameron on House). But as David Blue (Cliff) told me at Ugly Betty’s New York premiere a few weeks back, the MIA couple will get some long overdue face time very soon.

Ausiello: I’m getting word that Mode is hosting a company-wide, off-site retreat in November that has “Emmy bait” written all over it.
The first one is confirmation of something we’ve been guessing. We’ve seen too many clues that Daniel is going to be back at Mode, all of them circumstantial except for the disappearing script snippet. For those of us who are rooting for Daniel, this is good news. But, what are they going to do with Wilhelmina?
About Cliff: yippee!!!! It looks like we might be seeing more of David Blue, and not just as a bit player. According to this interview at AfterElton (which I hope to have a full story about soon), Silvio Horta wants to more deeply develop Marc’s character, and that’s going to involve Cliff.
“We have a couple of episodes we want to start using him again. We really want to use him and see him with Marc when we devote more than a couple of lines to him in the background. David Blue is great and I love that character and the writers and the audience love him. We want to play out that relationship in a real way. We want to push things again and see how far we can go with the two of them”, Horta says.
This should interesting.
The last item is anyone’s guess. Could the retreat be at Coney Island? Or somewhere else, like Broadway? We’ll see, we’ll see.

I’m sure I read another Ausiello spoiler regarding the new CFO, and the fact that Daniel starts to fall for the CFO’s fiancee, who is a kindergarten teacher. But I can’t find the link anymore – does anyone remember seeing this? They did have the name of the actress in the spoiler but I can’t remember it.

Ugly Betty: Sarah Lafleur (ESPN’s Playmakers) has booked a recurring role as Molly, a kindergarten teacher and fiancée to Lost’s freighter captain Meade Pubs’ new CFO, Connor (Grant Bowler). My Betty snitch whispers that Daniel will start to fall for Molly, setting the stage for another tension-filled triangle at Mode
I can’t put words on how happy I am right now. I’m SO excited to see the Cliff/Marc romance develop and grow! Maybe a little too excited actually. Hmm. Anyway, this is also a really interesting interview of David Blue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmW4Tge8FxI he says there that Cliff will be spending more time at the “Mode” offices. That sound great, maybe we’ll see Cliff, Marc and Amanda hanging out together. Oh and also Cliff and Betty maybe, that sure would be interesting.
