‘Lost’ Captain Joins Ugly Betty Cast

EW’s Ausiello has some interesting Ugly Betty casting news.  Remember the kind of creepy freighter captain on Lost, who was shot in last May’s season finale?  The actor, Grant Bowler, is coming to Ugly Betty!

He will play Meade Publications’ CFO, and, according to Ausiello, his role will be ‘heavily occurring’. 

He’s running the business part of the magazine,” says Silvio Horta. “He’s hot and cool and all the women are in love with him.”  Apparently, there’s even a hint that Wilhelmina has a history with him.

Now THIS is going to be interesting.  Although Daniel and Alexis have dabbled in the business side of things at Mode, it never quite felt right.  I think that having a CFO in the mix opens up all kinds of story lines that haven’t been touched on before.  Sure, we’ve had the “lack of advertisers” story arc, but it never quite seemed right that the creative people were fretting over it. 

So, this character would have been Henry’s boss.  In fact, he’ll be Henry, but with power.

Great move by Horta and the producers.
