Ugly Betty News Is One Year Old Today!
And they said it wouldn’t last…
One year ago today, we posted the very first post on Ugly Betty News.
It has been an unbelievable, fun, frustrating, thought-provoking year. We’ve had Emmys and work stoppages, rumors and public slip-ups. We’ve had a compelling season premiere, and a somewhat less compelling season finale. We’ve had comment feuds, ship flame wars, spoiler intrigue and even a couple of scoops. We’ve seen red carpet hits and misses (mostly hits).
I am so very thankful that I’ve been given this opportunity to write every day about a show I’m so very passionate about. The fact that I do not fit into the typical demographic that normally writes or reads entertainment blogs is not lost on me. I know that the fact I was even given a chance to do this at all makes me a fortunate man.
But most of all, I am thankful for you.
We have the most thoughtful, intelligent commenters on any entertainment site, bar none. Even during the ’ship’ wars this spring, especially during the ship wars, you guys wrote eloquently for your sides. Some of you obviously work in the entertainment or fashion industries, and of course, at least one of the actors from the show drops by sometimes. I have a theory that the powers that be (Silvio Horta? ) even read here from time to time. Just a hunch. Hopefully, they’ll hear what you guys have to say, and make the show better than it already is.
Many of you have branched out with sites of your own - and I couldn’t be happier. Finally, there is a cohesive Ugly Betty community coming together. We might have separate focuses, but we are united in our love for Ugly Betty.
So, thanks for coming along for the ride. I have every intention of making this next year bigger and better than ever.

Congrats, Tom! I honestly hope this site will last - at least - one more year, it’s the best Ugly Betty blog out there! Just thought I’d give a heads up to you and your readers that a new promo-spot for the new season has been released at the official site (at http://abc.go.com/primetime/uglybetty/) called “How Far Will Her Dreams Take Her?”. It gives you a recap of what’s happened in Betty’s life so far, as well as a few new clips from the new season (which looks very interesting).

congrats tom! you are brilliant when it comes to keep ugly betty fans up to date with the latest goings on during and behind the scenes at mode. it’s difficult to find news on ugly betty especially in regards to what the cast are doing but you have been great and your hard work should be commended. this is one of my fav. sites thanks to you. keep up the amazing effort and thank you

Congratulations to Ugly Betty News on this very special milestone. I can’t believe this site is one year old. I found this place a few weeks ago and I’ve been hooked since.

Congratulations! It’s, IMHO, the best sites out there about Ugly Betty. Complete with spoilers (my favourite resource.. you know that thanks to your site I’ve gained a reputations as “Lady Spoiler” with my friends? ), analizes, recap, and so much more. 100 of that years has to come!

congrats for one year. I may not read all the spoilers, (allegeric you know,) but I do enjoy reading all the cast information, what they’re doing etc, some of your insights on various topics, and embeded links to various tv spots/ interviews with the cast.
thanks a bunch for being a one-stop resource!
