New 60-Second Ugly Betty Season 3 Promo

As has been discussed in the comments here, ABC has released a new promo for Ugly Betty’s 3rd season.
I love the fact that it is sixty seconds long, and they take their time with it. If there was any doubt about Ugly Betty becoming a Single Girl in the Big City series, this promo should put that to rest. I really think this will be a good move – now there are endless possibilities for stories outside Mode and the Suarez house. Think “Mary Tyler Moore”.
Betty obviously gets her own apartment, and quite possibly the Val Emmich character is going to be a “crush” for Betty. We’ve yet to see Betty have an unrequited love – this is the stuff of music montages. 
I love when Betty surprises her family as they are painting her apartment. It took me several viewings to figure out it was them.
I am very, very excited for this coming season!
The Mary Tyler Moore refernce is spot on especially since Mary had her M and Betty has her B. Anyway, The Suarez clan decorating and cleaning up Betty’s place so cute.

Oh yes!!! I can’t wait for September 25th!!!! can’t wait at all!!!! I like Julian De la Celle (who plays Daniel Jr.) and am totally looking forward to seeing him.

OH btw, I was looking @ a few magazines lately… and I swear a lot of the new outfits are looking a bit betty-inspired. Non-matching & bright colors. She’s practically in-style now. : )

Betty moving into a new flat. That´s wonderful. So its confirmed. At least we got to see a few little scenes of next season. And Val Emmich playing Jesse, the new neighbor. He seems cute. I hope he sings in a couple of episodes, I like several of his songs.
Bummer! No Daniel or Gio yet. But I can´t wait to see what´s coming. *over excited*

Yay for Betty’s new apartment and new guy. He’s very cute, so I’ll give the storyline a chance (although it’s stupid to use the proposals as a cliffhanger, then promote the whole single girl in the city story line, then *puff* comes a new love interest in the first episode)
Anyway, I’ll be waiting for Gio to come back sooner or later. I still have hope.
So, how about if Jesse isn’t a crush – how about if he’s a friend in her new apartment building who she can hang out with, talk all night, but they are not drawn to each other sexually? If she’s Mary, maybe he’s Rhoda…. just a suggestion.
I think the last shot of “Jump” on New York City already announces the outcome of the whole situation. So I suppose NYC will be sort of a full-fledged character in this 3rd season. In my opinion, her dream in the same episode shows she doesn’t necessarily have to choose between the 2 proposals.
And I look forward seeing this Jesse, I think he will be very interesting.

word up to person mentioned the lack of judgement of single girl in the city, two proposals, and a potential love interest in the same promo. tottally agree. While i had some doubts about the new season, but it looking good from just the vibe i got off from watching. seriously what were the writers thinking last season, this should have been the direction that should have slowly built up towards. Honestly if weren’t for the fact it had some lovely moments last season, i would try to forget season two didn’t exist except for important plotpoints.

A lot of it looks like it could be cute, and Jesse looks pretty cute, too. But I’ll be a lot more prepared to like him if he’s not poaching on Gio’s turf. Gio has barely had a chance with Betty yet and after that powerfully romantic declaration (”I want to be the guy”) he deserves his shot. But that’s not to say Betty shouldn’t have male platonic friends.

I totally agree with everything you said. Jesse is cute but if he suddenly ends up with Betty, I’m through. A guy like that would probably never have anything to do romantically with Betty, much less right away.
He does look like good friend material, though. It looks like he’s laughing at her a little bit. Maybe he can help straighten her out.
