Ausiello : Heather Tom Will Guest Star On Ugly Betty

by Tom on August 14th, 2008

Heather Tom Ugly Betty will be getting a little more soapy this season (and not in the way they’d photograph in Player Magazine).

According to scooper-scooper Michael Ausiello, Emmy winning star of Bold and the Beautiful Heather Tom will be in an at least 3 episode story arc.  She will play state department liaison to Daniel’s long-lost son in at least three episodes.

We first reported this role to you in a post featuring a video of an actress reading for the part.  I guess the actress, Heidi Marnout, did not get the part.  Hopefully, it’s not because her reading ended up on YouTube.  :)

Tom has been a daytime TV fixture for some time now.  She’s been with Bold and the Beautiful for two years, and before that she played Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless from 1999-2003.

On the Ugly Betty front - I’m with Ausiello on this one: I don’t know that she’ll become a long-term love interest for Daniel, but I have no doubt this character, Holly, will end up having a ‘liason’ of her own with Daniel.  Has Eric Mabius got a great job or what?

Hmm…well, the video was taken down, interestingly enough.

Still, considering that it’s a 3 episode stint and the character factors heavily into Daniel’s storyline, I’m thinking that they wanted to go with someone more well-known - just like they did with Lucy Liu, Rebecca Gayheart, etc.

Wasn’t she on Who’s The Boss once?

Yes, acat Heather did appear on Who’s The Boss for one episode back in 1988 I believe.

I just remembered. Heather Tom’s character on Who’s The Boss was the first girl that Danny Pintauro Who’s The Boss character Jonathan Bower shared his FIRST KISS with!

Jonathan was of course Angel Bower [Judith Light] son on Who’s The Boss.

    Here we go again!

Well, she certainly won’t be Daniel’s first kiss, *lol*.

But it’s still six-degrees-of separation. That’s pretty cool! What a small world. ;)

I thought she looked familiar. Not that I’ve seen Heather in anything, particularly, but she looks like her sister Nicholle, whom I have seen.

Nicole is Heather’s younger sister. Nicole is acutally a twin. Nicole has a twin brother named David Tom.

Heather and David were both on The Young and The Restless together but NEVER had any scenes together.

Heather and David both showed up on One Life To Live together. Heather played Kelly Cramer and David was her 1/2 brother Paul Cramer.

Nicole was on The Nanny as Maggie Sheffield.

When Heather sported Blonde hair on OLTL she looked a lot like Nicole. I think that is why some people get them confused with each other.

Speaking on Judith Light and Who’s the Boss–There are clips of Michael Urie and Becki Newton singing TV themes from the 80’s (including Who’s the Boss–and guess who was there… ;) ) on YouTube from Broadway Loves the 80s!
