Funny America Ferrera Clip From Talk Soup
This is uncomfortable to watch, and hilarious at the same time. Recently, Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera and Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively were on Good Day LA in their whirlwind promotion of their film Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. The good folks at Talk Soup highlighted Ms Ferrera’s less-than-enthralled reaction of having the subject of Gossip Girl come up for what had to be the billionth time:
Ha.
In defense of Ferrera, normally in these two-person remote interviews, if one person is asked a question that only they would answer, the camera usually focuses only on them. I’m sure Ferrera thought she was off-camera. But it does look like she’s thinking, “Hello? GG can’t even break 4 million viewers…How about asking about a show that has 8-10 million?”
Certainly America was asked an Ugly Betty question, so it would be interesting to see Blake Lively’s demeanor during that time.
Of course, this could only be funny to me. :)

HAHA cracks me up EVERY time. If you watch the full video it almost looks like she’s dozing off. I heard she got bad press about this, but I just think it’s hilarious. Nothing against Blake :]

I saw this on the Soup Friday night and laughed so hard; especially with Joel McHale saying at the end that they should have let the clip run longer because America actually “strangled her”–I was rolling on the floor.
I love The Soup

Ohhhh… I’ve given this look to many people over the years! Let me break down what this look means: you’re annoying, stupid, self-absorbed and fake. Clearly America had no qualms about revealing her disinterest with Miss Lively. Had it been a less professional setting I’d be snickering with glee this very instant. However, they were on national television!! Does the hate run that deep America?! Well in my opinion it does or else she would’ve been able to hide it from the world. When the first Sisterhood came out Alexis Bledel was the most recognized, now America and Blake are bigger. It’s ok to share the spotlight America, if just for 2 minutes.

Frankly, I think people are making this into a much bigger deal than it was meant to be - and comments like yours exemplify this idea quite well. To begin with, I think it’s hilarious that so many media outlets are saying that America “rolled” her eyes continuously. Really? Where - and when? America gave Blake Lively a look, but she didn’t necessarily roll her eyes repeatedly.
Secondly, let’s emphasize that point again: She only gave a LOOK. Now, it may not have been the sweetest look, but come on! I’ve given that same annoyed look to my closest friends plenty of times before, and vice versa. But it’s not something that any of us take too personally, since we know each other as friends. And let’s remember - America and Blake ARE friends. Maybe they’re not best friends, but they’re still friends. From what I’ve seen of their interaction in past interviews, I’m sure they’d have no problem snarking at each other a bit. That’s what happens amongst friends, after all. You’ve got your good and your bad moments.
And regardless of the professional setting, let’s remember that these women are both human, after all. They’re allowed to slip up once in a while. Sure, America gave her friend a strange, annoyed look that practically said, “You’re being silly”. So what? That’s hardly a major insult. It’s not as if America flipped Blake off and called her vulgar names on live TV.
But once again, leave it to the media - and certain fans - to get dramatic over the little stuff. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if both Blake and America got a laugh from all of this.

The last second or so when America turns to the camera and her eyes get really wide was the funniest and cutest moment. I agree that it’s probably the media making a bigger deal than it really is out of something like this. I also feel that America’s reaction is not necessarily directed completely at Blake, it might also have had something to do with the entire concept of “Gossip Girl” and the plotlines Blake was talking about: the Hamptons and who’s sleeping with who…I’d roll my eyes at that kind of stuff, too.
Ausiello Discovers That Ferrera and Lively Are Still BFFs

[…] As reported here, and just about everywhere else on the planet, America Ferrera and Blake Lively recently did a satellite interview with a local station in Los Angeles while promoting Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, and it seemed as if the Ugly Betty star Ferrera was visibly showing contempt for Gossip Girl while Lively was answering a GG question. Some say she rolled her eyes. Maybe. […]
