Happy Birthday, Michael Urie!

Today is Michael Urie’s birthday.  Normally, I don’t throw around people’s ages willy-nilly, but seeing as Urie is only 28, I’ll make an exception this time.

Michael was born and raised outside of Dallas, TX, but it’s obvious he’s in his element in NY and LA, especially New York.  I can’t wait to see him in new projects, although his love of theater probably means I’d have to take a trip to New York to see Urie in anything outside of Ugly Betty.

Writer/Producer Silvio Horta has let it be known that Marc’s character will get a little deeper treatment this year, and his relationship with Cliff was specifically mentioned.  Silvio has said in the past that he won’t pursue controversy for its own sake, but he won’t shy away from it, either.  Could this be the year that Ugly Betty ends up on the evening news, with Urie at the center?  We’ll see.

Anyway, the most important thing is that Marc should be seen on screen with Amanda as much as possible.  They are comedy gold.

So, happy birthday, Michael!  Hope you don’t have to spend it working!
