Ugly Betty Block Party

July 18, 2008 by Tom

This is just awesome.  Check it out, the producers of Ugly Betty put on a block party for the Suarez’s “real life” neighborhood:

I really love the interview with the guy who lives in the real Suarez house.  And the guy from the neighborhood who can’t believe he lives where Ugly Betty is set.  America Ferrera was there, along with Tony Plana.

This was awfully nice of the producers, and most definitely good PR, considering they are going to be disrupting things there quite a bit this year.

Speaking of PR – maybe it’s possible that the whole move will help raise ratings in the largest TV market in the US?  For Los Angeles, a having a TV show filmed in your neighborhood is no big deal.  Brooklyn?  Queens? That remains to be seen I guess.

Hat tip: Spoil the Ending (Great name, BTW)
