New Site For Ugly Betty ‘Getty’ Fans
I have long been looking to add a site to my blogroll for ‘Getty’ fans (fans of Ugly Betty, particularly of the budding - we think - relationship between the characters Betty and Gio). I already link to sites for the two other ’ships’:
- Instant Connection - all about the Henry (Chris Gorham)and Betty (Benry) romance.
- The Bachelor and The Butterfly - all about the friendship (and maybe more) between Daniel (Eric Mabius)and Betty (Detty).
Thanks to commenter Beatrice B for the heads up; Getty fans have a new, spiffy place: ModeGirl-SandwichGuy.com. There is a forum, and it’s already pretty active.
I try to link to, visit, and comment at as many Ugly Betty sites as possible. I’ll definitely be visiting this one. I-C and B&B are first class sites, and I have no doubt this one will be also.

I love Betty and Gio together- but Ugly Betty is based on the Colombian soap opera “Betty la Fea” so if the story goes accordingly, Betty will eventually become pretty and end up with Daniel.

I think if anything can be deduced with how the show has been going, I think it’s that the American version is taking a path all it’s own and I kinda like that! I rather like not knowing where the writers are going to take the characters.

Totally agree with you, Sarah. And don´t worry Nessa. I´ve seen parts of the original telenovela and there are several other soap opera adaptations (and even a couple of films) about the matter. I think the US version is unique (that and the fact that its a TV show and not a soap opera like the rest) and we can expect a lot of surprises from the writers. Judging by what we have so far, except the first episode, the US Ugly Betty is quite different from the original story. So don´t worry… nobody knows where the writers are going to take the characters, that´s for sure.
Nessa, you say “Betty will become pretty”. Hey, you don´t think Betty is pretty? I am those who think that the US version is trying to show the world that Betty is not Ugly, but different. I find her cute in her own wacky style.
I am so happy you enjoy this show. Is quite beautiful and entertaining.

Me alegro de que siga la serie UGLY BETTY, creo que de todas las versiones esta es la mas entretenida y sin duda rodada con mucho gusto en todos los detalles. Estoy deseando ver los capitulos de la tercera temporada.
P.D: soy ESPAÑOLA , y fan de casi todas las series y peliculas ESTADOUNIDENSES.

Muchas gracias por el comentario - hemos comentaristas de todo el mundo, y me encanta cómo Ugly Betty universal es suficiente para tener tantos fans en todo el mundo.
Quiero hacerles saber, no hablo español, y mi hija que está aprendiendo español no es su casa, así que utilicé Google Translate (lo que es una gran herramienta!) - Y espero que traducido lo suficientemente bien como para que usted entienda esto.
Es bueno encontrar tantos fans de Ugly Betty en tantos lugares.

Hola, Amparo, yo vivo en Republica Dominicana asi que el español es mi primer idioma. Si no me equivoco ustedes en España también tienen una versión de la fanquicia llamada “Yo soy Bea” y fue muy exitosa ¿no? Y en el canal cuatro están pasando esta version norteamericana de Ugly Betty la cual ha tenido buena acogida. Yo estoy muy contenta. Realmente esta versión es mi favorita.
