Ugly Betty Guest Stars We Love: Kevin Alejandro

Character on Ugly Betty: Santos, Justin’s father and Hilda’s on-again-off-again lover.  He’s one of those who probably shouldn’t count as a guest star; he was so integral to the season 1 story line, but that’s how he’s listed.

Main Characteristic:  He loves Justin and Hilda very much, and wants to make up for his past mistakes.  He even puts up with a very unforgiving Ignacio in his attempt to make things right.

Most Famous For:  Sleeper cell, Drive, Shark (his latest gig), and of course, a good run on Ugly Betty.

Ugly Betty Episodes: 1.07 – After Hours, 1.08 – Four Thanksgivings and a Funeral, 1.09 – Lose The Boss, 1.15 – Brothers, 1.16 – Derailed, 1.20 – Petra-Gate, 1.23 – East Side Story,  2.01 How Betty Got Her Grieve Back.

Best Moment: Comedy: 1.08 – When he gave Justin football gear, including a “cup”, and Justin mistakes it for a Phantom of the Opera mask.  Drama: In 1.16, when he forcefully comes to Justin’s defense after a stranger on the subway tells Justin to quit singing, and calls him a name.  It may have been my favorite moment on the show, ever.
