Micheal Urie and Becki Newton at the Golden Nymph Awards
Ugly Betty’s Michael Urie and Becki Newton have been hanging out at the 2008 Monte Carlo Television Festival. As we’ve reported previously, Becki attended with her mom. Here is a photo of the two of them:
They seem to be having a great time.
The week culminated in the 2008 Golden Nymph Awards, which Becki and Michael attended. Of course, Urie looked as dapper as ever, but Newton was absolutely stunning in her long, flowing green dress. I don’t use the word ‘goddess’ often, but…wow.
Ugly Betty did not win any awards this year (the show was quite international). UK shows did quite well - you can read all about the awards show here.
I’ll predict this now: Newton and Urie are so popular as a “couple”, and seem to enjoy each other’s company so much, I have no doubt that the two of them will work together in a future project. That is, if they don’t get tired of each other. They seem to be together all the time.
But, then again, I have several friends I never seem get tired of, so maybe that just doesn’t apply to Newton and Urie. Anyway, I believe that a spinoff might one day be a great idea.
What do you think? Would you watch “The Marc and Mandy Show”?
More gorgeous photos after the jump!

Marc and Amanda are my favourite characters so I would be more than happy to get an Ugly Betty spin-off. However, things like Joey have shown that spin-offs are the fastest way to kill a good thing. So I’m undecided. Love Michael and Becki though, they look so cute together.

They both have a lot of potential, so it would be a shame if they didn’t develop their careers in other ways. But they could do that and also work together on something.
Another consideration is that their dialogue might be lacking without the writers from Ugly Betty/Will & Grace — of course we’ve seen they can improvise, too.
