Ugly Betty Spoiler From EOnline’s Kristin

Well, Kristin from EOnline answers one of my Ugly Betty season finale questions:
Anna in Salt Lake City: I need some Ugly Betty scoop. I am personally a huge fan of a Betty-Gio hookup. Any hints as to when or if that is going to happen? I can tell you that Ugly Betty is taking the Henry-Betty-Gio triangle down to the wire. One of the boys proposes in the finale, and the other one invites her to travel with him. In true TV fashion, at the end of the episode, we have no idea whom she leaves with, and we’ll have to wait until next season to find out. Also, big stuff coming for Daniel in the UB finale. He’ll lose something very important to him, and in a cosmic, karmic exchange, rediscover a part of his life he never knew he had.
So, I guess this means we get the whole summer to discuss the love triangle. Gee, thanks, Silvio Horta. 
Seriously, the love triangle between Betty - Henry - Gio is what generates the most heat in Ugly Betty discussion, so I’m not going to complain. It’s all in good fun.
The part with Daniel is what intrigues me. In the latest promo, it’s obvious that Alexis gives Wilhelmina Daniel’s job. I wasn’t expecting that; at the end of episode 2.17, everything at Mode was back to “normal”: Wilhelmina in her old job, Daniel as Editor in Chief. I wasn’t expecting this to happen so soon, but I guess it’s another product of the strike-shortened season.
He’ll [Daniel will] lose something very important to him, and in a cosmic, karmic exchange, rediscover a part of his life he never knew he had.
So, my hope that the boy is Alexis’ will turn out not to be. But, it’ll be interesting to see what the producers do with this next season. Will Daniel grow up a little? I guess we’ll have to tune in and see.
Hmm…it’s way too easy for that child to be Daniel’s son. Nope - I believe in time that we’ll find out that Nathanael (the boy) belongs to Alexis. Now, wouldn’t THAT be an interesting twist of karma? Yes, it would be - and it certainly matches up with that ‘twist’ that everyone is talking about that’s coming up for Alexis.
And kudos to the writers for finding a way to make us hate Alexis before kicking her out next season. What better way to detach us from her than by making her into a big meanie all over again? Seems smart.
As for the triangle, it’s expected. How are they going to keep viewers if everything gets resolved by the season finale? No, the tension is needed.
I understand about keeping viewers tuned in and the best way is the triangle. But, in an earlier interview SH mentioned that it would be resolved with Betty making a choice. Well, we will have to wait and see what happens this Thursday.
My question is - What does Willie’s being hired as EIC mean for Betty. Marc is Willie’s assistant. I don’t see Betty working for Willie. I wonder if she will work for Claire at Hot Flash for now.

Nah, I still think the kid’s going to turn out to be Alexis’s. My theory is that they’ll play the “OMG he’s Daniel’s!” card for a couple of episodes and then it’ll turn out Nathanael is Alexis’s after all. I think the kid’s going to show up knowing his father is a Meade, but not knowing that the eldest Meade used to be a man, thus defaulting to Daniel.
I think the whole “Daniel has a son… maybe” plotline is to force Daniel to grow up a little and take some responsibility. He still won’t be perfect, sure, but I can see him freaking out for a little while and then steeling himself and realizing he has to step up. The fire needs to be lit under that man’s ass, and I think Nathanael is the spark.
And Teri, I was wondering the same thing. The odds of them keeping Betty at MODE after ousting Daniel are probably in the negatives, so I’ll be interested to see what happens with her. I could see her moving to HotFlash, since she and Claire have had some surrogate mother/daughter bonding going on of late.
But my other theory is that Daniel may start up a competing company of some sort. I’m no expert on the original Betty La Fea, but I remember hearing that Armando & Betty started a “ghost company” when the real company was having financial problems. Not sure if that’s where they’re going with this or not–after all, they just got everyone back together again!–but it’s a thought.
Hey, we did have Betty working for Sofia Reyes’ magazine in season 1. (I forgot the name of the magazine - my family would be disappointed and shocked by this) So, Betty could work with Claire. Well, that is if she isn’t sightseeing in Tucson or Italy.
Well, yes - the interview with Silvio Horta did say that Betty is going to make a choice rather quickly and she’ll eventually take a move at the end. However, Silvio never said that we would actually see what Betty’s choice is in the Season Finale. She probably will choose, but we won’t be allowed to see what that choice is until next season.
As for Betty’s job, I think that it’s very possible that either Claire will voluntarily offer Betty a job as her assistant, or Daniel will do what he did before and ask Alexis (or his mother) to allow Betty to stay at Mode - which, again, could lead to Betty working with Claire.
Of course, as Bennu pointed out, there’s always that possibility that Betty will temporarily leave Mode and stick with Daniel while this is going on.

I totally agree with you, I have read recently that Christopher Groham said that if Betty choisisait Gio que se is not good for him.
What was not confirmed America Ferrera the next day she said that her relationship with Henry for 2 years was the kind of relationship fesait trouble head against that with Gio everything was very simple and it does fesait that praise on Gio .
At the same time she said that in the next 5 episodes there would be much change in the life of Betty, a chapter of his life especially in the field of love will close at the end of the season. And Horta also said so I suppose it must be that.
It is for this reason that I think Thursday it will make its choice unless a change of startégie … who knows may be we must wait until September this does not surprise me.
By against someone knows whether the episode will be longer than expected?

Hmm, I don’t like this spoiler - It sounds like Betty makes a decision and sets off to leave but we don’t know with whom and we’ll have to wonder about it all summer. I like my ending better!
How about if the boy turns out to be Alex’s son and Alexis leaves Meade to figure out how she feels about this and Daniel becomes the director of Meade?
All I know is that I’m dying for September now, and its only May… : ( I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever for Betty to discover Gio’s feelings, and I really want them to hook up! He’s got style too- how do you turn down a first date in ROME?!
As far as the boy (I thought his name was Daniel Jr.?), I think it should be interesting whatever way they play it. If he does turn out to be definitively Daniel’s, it might be the kick in the ass Daniel needs to man up and get his company back!
