America Ferrera To Star In ‘Invisible Sign’ Film

America Ferrera leaving StarbucksAmerica Ferrera, star of ABC’s hit series Ugly Betty, was recently seen darting out of a Starbucks in West Hollywood. (Click the image for high resolution!) She’s going to need all the caffiene she can get, because Ms Ferrera is one very busy woman.

Her schedule just got busier, because she’s signed on to star in “An Invisible Sign of my Own“, a coming of age drama. The film will be directed by Marilyn Agrelo, whose last directorial effort was the indie hit “Mad Hot Ballroom“. Shooting will begin very soon (more on that in a minute).

The film is an adaptation of Aimee Bender’s novel about a 20-year-old loner named Mona Gray (Ferrera) who as a child turned to math for salvation after her father became ill. As an adult, Gray now teaches the subject and must help her students through their own crises.

Ferrera is fitting this project in, and just barely at that. ABC is on an aggressive shooting schedule with Ugly Betty until early May, and will begin shooting season 3 in June, as the show is once again attempting to stockpile episodes before a potential strike (this time the Screen Actors Guild).

America is going to shoot the film in between her Betty shoots. Shoot, that’s busy!

Don’t forget, she also has The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 upcoming, and all the promotional appearances related to that. Ferrera is also voicing the animated flick “How to Train Your Dragon“.

Drink more coffee, America!
