Ugly Betty’s Eric Mabius And Wife Expecting Second Child

Eric Mabius and wife Ivy Sherman are expecting a second child. Mabius told the Associated Press of the good news.

Apparently, Ivy surprised him with the news on the set of Ugly Betty last week. I would imagine Mabius would have a hard time getting into character during sad scenes; I would be grinning like an idiot.

“We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet,” Mabius said Wednesday. The couple have a 1-year-old son.

They have been trying for a while, and you would think that the conception would have happened during the months-long WGA strike. Not exactly. Mabius said Sherman was “very frustrated” that she hadn’t gotten pregnant before the Hollywood writers strike ended and thought that since “Ugly Betty” had resumed production, they’d have to wait until the summer break.

“I proved her wrong,” he said, grinning.
