Vanessa Williams On Barbara Walters Pre-Oscar Special

This coming Sunday, at 7/6c, Barbara Walters has her annual pre-oscar special.  There is an interesting variety of interviewees this year, and Ugly Betty’s Vanessa Williams is one of them!  Yes, the funniest woman in television is going to be interviewed by the Queen of Interviews on Hollywood’s biggest night.

Williams admits to Walters that she definitely “does Botox”.  The admission is surprisingly candid, and also gives us insight into how she uses experience from her real life to play Wilhelmina Slater so deliciously.  Hopefully, she’ll also go in-depth as to how she keeps that incredible body.

If Williams demographically represents the 40-something set in the Walters special, also represented are Harrison Ford for the AARP set, Juno’s Ellen Page for the young, tragically hip, and Miley Cyrus will be interviewed to the great joy of the teen/tween set.

This leads me to a cool announcement – Ugly Betty News will live blog the Walters special.  OK, that may sound strange to you (why not just live blog the Oscars?), but there IS the Ugly Betty connection, and we are testing a new live blogging software that we hope we can use for actual episode live-blogs starting April 24.  I’m pretty excited about it – you won’t have to hit “refresh” to get updates, and there are all kinds of interactive features.
