Ugly Betty Returns April 24!

This is the announcement we’d been waiting for. ABC has announced that Ugly Betty will return with new episodes on April 24! There will be five brand new episodes (Silvio Horta had hinted there would be 4 or 5, it’s cool to see is on the higher end).
The new shows will air for the most part in May sweeps, so they will be over-the-top, for sure. The writers will be compressing what would have been the entire second half of season 2’s story lines into these 5 episodes, so I hope they resist the temptation to cram too much into each episode.
Also included in the announcement were return times for other ABC shows (listed after the jump!):
“Samantha Who?” returns Monday, April 7 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET) with six original episodes.
“Boston Legal” returns Tuesday, April 8 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) with six original episodes.
“Desperate Housewives” returns Sunday, April 13 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) with five original episodes and a special two-hour finale (seven hours total).
“Brothers & Sisters” returns Sunday, April 20 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) with four original episodes.
“Grey’s Anatomy” returns Thursday, April 24 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) with five original episodes.
“Lost” will move to its new 10:00 p.m. time period on Thursday, April 24, with five weeks of original episodes.
“Pushing Daisies,” “Private Practice” and “Dirty Sexy Money” will return next season.

Yay! I’m definitely counting the days…. until we get some spoilers! The episode will come in due time, but spoilers will always come out!
OMG, can I even wait that long? I mean, thank God there are more on the way, but 2 months is so long, especially in the winter.
It’s a long time, but here the 25 April is national holiday, so when I can watch it I will be watching very calmly.
Absolutely love Ugly Betty, (from the Colombian original to this one). But 5 more episodes. What about the fall? Will we get more then?

AHH!! I have been waitoing for like EVER for Ugly Betty to return. I can’t wait to see what happens!!!! Ahhhh! I wonder if the babies will arrive!!!!

I can’t wait! So if the storyline is the compressed second half of season 2, does that mean maybe Gio and Henry will be back? Alexis perhaps? I also can’t wait for Pushing Daisies to return! I think a *perfect* fall lineup would be 1.) Ugly Betty followed by 2.) Pushing Daisies 3.) Samantha Who? then 4.) Grey’s Anatomy. Another night could have Eli Stone and Life On Mars back to back. Perhaps put Dirty, Sexy Money on at the 10 pm slot or Private Practice? That’s how *my* ABC network would roll. Put all the shows that are likeness but not likeness oriented together like The Eagles where each member is a legend in their own right but together, in this case television instead of music they would make television phenominal. What did Cosby, Family Ties, Cheers and Night Court have in common? Not much except each was a successful comedic lead-in to St. Elsewhere’s drama and developed a cult following and/or nurtured future superstars (Woody Harrelson, Michael J. Fox, Raven Symone, etc.) in their own rights.
