America Ferrera Loses Golden Globe Award To Tina Fey

During the most bizarre awards show broadcast in the history of mankind (on NBC) , Ugly Betty had only one nomination: Best Actress in a TV Musical or Comedy Series (America Ferrera).

Well, she lost. 

America had been on a hot streak, winning just about every conceivable award for which she could be nominated.  But, because the Globes like to reward newcomers, and Tina Fey is the comedic actress of the moment, few thought America would win.

 I felt kind of sorry for the hosts on NBC - they were expected to list the nominees, name the winner, and give instant reaction.  They handled themselves about as well as can be expected.  I only caught a few minutes of the actual ceremony on CNN - incredibly boring.

Please, please, please - let’s not do this again.  How about we get this strike settled before next year’s Emmy’s?
