Ugly Betty Episode 2.11 Sneak Peeks Up At ABC.com
ABC has posted two new sneak peek videos for Ugly Betty episode 2.1.1, “Zero Worship”. I’ll keep an eye out for versions that can be embedded - they aren’t on YouTube yet. As soon as they are, I’ll post them here.
One made me laugh, one made me very sad.
The first one hit pretty close to home for me. Betty is leading Justin’s class on a field trip through the offices of Mode. The girls are obsessed with celebrities, and apparently, their own weight (even though all of them are quite skinny). Amanda eggs them on.
I have an almost-10-year-old daughter - this is something I’m quite concerned about (although my daughter is in spirit more Betty than Amanda). But there is good news; from what I’ve seen of the promo pics, the kids will eventually be taught the correct lesson about image, weight, and self-worth.
The second is hilarious: Wilhelmina has apparently been undergoing (illegal) hormone treatments. She’s a little crazy in the clip (and actually much more likeable than usual). Marc is about to give her another shot, and says something that is absolutely crazy. I’m not going to give it away, you’ll have to see it - you will laugh, I promise.
You know, I thought this episode might be a “bridge” episode, one of those so-so installments they run between the big jaw-dropping episodes. But now, I am really looking forward to this one. It’s the first one that UB writer/creator Silvio Horta didn’t do any post-filming work on, so hopefully we won’t see anything weird with the writing. But, I can’t wait!
