Ugly Betty Named To AFI’s Top 10 TV Shows of 2007

December 17, 2007 by Tom

The American Film Institute, best known for making lists of “Top 100″ movies, has branched off into television, and has named its top 10 television shows of 2007.  Of course, Ugly Betty made the list!

Here is the complete list:

  • Dexter
  • Everybody Hates Chris
  • Friday Night Lights
  • Longford
  • Mad Men
  • Pushing Daisies
  • The Sopranos
  • Tell Me You Love Me
  • 30 Rock
  • Ugly Betty

Now, I’ll admit, the only one of these besides Ugly Betty that is must-see for me is Pushing Daisies (and believe me, ABC does not pay me to say that) .  I’m hoping to use the strike downtime to catch up on that one.  It is almost as eye-appealingly beautiful, and quirky, as Ugly Betty.

After the goofy snub for the Golden Globes, it’s good to see Ugly Betty get some much deserved recognition.

Yay Ugly Betty! But I’m VERY surprised to see The Office isn’t on there! Granted, I saw 5 minutes of one episode of 30 Rock and a few episodes last season of Everybody Hates Chris, and that’s it from that list. But still, The Office totally deserves it, just like UB!

i agree, i am glad to see the recognition. i don’t know how the show does in the neilson ratings, or does that even mean anything anymore? I also like the show Journeyman, its like a modernday Quantum Leap.
