Lindsay Lohan Ugly Betty Intrigue: Will She?

The past 24 hours, there has been much on-again,off-again,on-again speculation concerning a possible appearance by Lindsay Lohan on Ugly Betty.  Yesterday, for a short amount of time, the NY post had a story that basically said that the Lohan appearance was not going to happen.   Then, suddenly, it was taken down.

Now, several media outlets, including the Post, are reporting that the Lohan guest role is very likely.

You have to wonder how much of this is just a “playing out” of the ongoing negotiations.  Or maybe it’s just a manifestation of Lohan’s mercurial personality.  Perhaps she changes her mind by the minute.

It could also just mean that the Post got just a wee bit prematurely excited…

I was going to link to the original story, of which you can see the  summary if you perform a ‘Lohan’ search at the Post’s site. (It’s titled Lindsay’s ‘ugly’ Career Over dated Nov 21, although the linked aticle is now gone).  It had me quite bummed out - I was really looking forward to seeing Lindsay on Ugly Betty.

Then, later the same day, in the Post’s “Star Report“, the news is that it’s on again (or at least likely):

Lindsay Lohan still wants to guest-star on “Ugly Betty” - once the writers’ strike is eventually settled. “She’s totally looking forward to it,” Lohan’s publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, told me yesterday. There’s no deal, yet, but Lohan had been in talks with ABC to appear on “Betty” as a restaurant employee befriended by Betty (America Ferrera). And then the strike hit.

“She loves the show,” Sloane Zelnik said. “Lindsay was flattered there was interest in her from the show. They talked character points and she loved [the character].” Sources say Lohan was in “on going conversations” with ABC. * * *

Of course, it’s all a moot point till the writers get back to work.  But, I can say I REALLY hope this happens!
