Ugly Betty Episode 2.07 Live Reaction Post
Welcome to our weekly gathering of Ugly Betty fanatics to watch and comment on Ugly Betty, live as it airs! This week’s episode may be the best ever: season 2, episode 7: “A Nice Day For a Posh Wedding”. Some crazy stuff is going to happen tonight. Here is the episode synopsis:
As Wilhelmina prepares for her big day, all is not quiet on the Mode front when she realizes her fabulous maid of honor, Victoria Beckham (guest starring as herself), is stealing her thunder. Meanwhile, Betty is wracked with guilt about her secret pact with Wilhelmina and about not telling Daniel that his future step-mom is dallying with her bodyguard (guest star Rick Fox). At the Suarez house, Ignacio prepares for his big day - becoming a U.S. citizen - but when Betty moves in with new love Henry, it puts a major strain on father/daughter relations.
This is going to be big fun - and expect some major things to happen in this episode.
The episode airs on the east coast at 8pm EST. All running commentary will be after the jump. Join us, won’t you?
Looking forward to Vera Wang and Victoria Beckham. And, of course, Marc and Amanda stealing the show, as usual.
Episode begins with Jistin wathing Fashion TV. “Bradamina” Heh. Hilda is covering for Betty not being there. Uh-oh, Betty gets caught coming in the window!
Hey, look Cliff’s back. Marc is freaking out. Bradford is still playing favorites - asking Alexis to stand with him at the wedding. Wilhelmina is already jealous of Posh. “Practically my second mom…” Hee Hee.
Ignacio is angry! Uh-oh, Betty storms out. She’s moving out. Betty tells Hilda about her secret about her dad and his visa. Hoo-boy!
Amanda threatens Marc’s nipples. There’s Christina’s husband. Great line “You have a dog? I don’t even know you!”
Love VB stealing Wilhelmina’s thunder… Betty’s going to move in with Henry.
Stuart seems nice, but phony. I could be wrong.
Betty doesn’t seem to be too comfortable with moving in with Henry.
You know, there’s a part of me that doesn’t like Henry. If he was a real stand-up guy, he wouldn’t lead Betty on in this way. Yeah, yeah. I know “His heart will break, too.” I just hope if it was me,I’d be able to cut it off, heart be damned. [/sopabox]
Wilhelmina’s still sleeping with her bodyguard… See, Ignacio agrees with me!
Oh, gee. Christina slept with Stuart. He is her husband, after all… Uh-oh, a syringe.
Sad. Betty won’t answer her dad’s calls. At least Henry is pressing Betty to do the right thing re: her dad. This whole VB thing is a hoot. Daniel now knows about Dewayne. It’s all coming to a head soon.
Daniel is rummaging through Wilhelmina’s office. Stuart is dying? Love the Wicked coffee cup.
“He’s dumb, too”. Poor Daniel.
Amanda is hilarious. Hey look, Cliff is GQ! OK, I like Henry again - he’s doing the right thing. Go Henry!
(You know, I’ve done these live threads for a while. I can tell, they are having twice as many commercial breaks this episode. Gotta love sweeps!)
Y’all watch Amanda - her dying for attention is about to get hilarious. I THINK she’s going to sing, and something crazy, at that.
Good scene with Ignacio at his ceremony.
What a strange breakup Marc just had. Daniel is not having any luck with Dewayne. “I’m an average man-lover…” Hee.
What the heck did WIlhelmina do to Posh? Oh, I get it. She locked her in a closet. Here comes the bride!
Betty objects!
Some crazy stuff is about to go down. Betty’s trying to get Daniel to confront his father. Daniel just fired Betty!
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!! MY MILKSHAKE!!!! That was incredible.
Bradford just collapsed. THis dosn’t look good. Rufus Wainright’s “Hallelujah” was a good touch. Is this going to be a cliffhanger?
Next week is going to be interesting.
But this week? Amanda stole the show.
Remember, the full recap will be coming soon.

THey said on TV guide that the organ in that church is the oldest in North America - and this is the first time “Milkshake” was ever played on it.
Who was the white haired guy who was getting into it? I’ve seen him in fashion circles, but can’t place him.

nctodc, I had the same feeling too. Hey, it’d be great if he was actually being truthful, but there’s a part of me that thinks that he’s doing this to get back at Christina. I really hope it’s the not the latter.
And although Amanda’s solo was funny as hell, it was a little too unbelievable to actually happen. I guess that’s what the show’s about though, what with last week’s escapades on Broadway.
And Daniel’s a huge jerk.

Jamie - they seem to be following an arc where Betty and Daniel have traded places. Ican live with that - it’s kind of interesting.
But, isn’t this the FOURTH time Betty has quit or been fired? What is she, Billy Martin?

I guess…it shows how much he’s developed. But when he flat out fired her, my jaw dropped. I definitely wasn’t expecting that at all. She was trying to make things right, and she got shut down. And even in the preview for the next ep, she’s all about how she doesn’t think she can work there anymore. I know she’ll be back in the end, but still.
Man, what a great ep.

it was JEFF BUCKLEY’s cover of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, not Rufus Wainwright. :) Jeff beats that dude by miles.
