America Ferrera Pokes Castmates With Emmy
Apparently, Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera has been using her Emmy to keep her castmates in line, by poking them with it:
The 23-year-old actress, who plays Betty Suarez in the hit US show, uses the award to threaten anyone who misbehaves.
“It is very dangerous - and it’s got two pointy wings so you can really poke,” she told US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel.
Ferrera, who was this week voted Hispanic Woman of the Year, won her Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
I don’t begrudge her, if I had an Emmy, I’d poke my coworkers in line by poking them with it as well.
It’ll be funny if she has to have it repaired in the next few months. She also uses the Power of The Emmy to intimidate:
Asked whether she used her new powers to fire any of her co-stars, she said: “I do threaten.
“I just kind of show up to work with my Emmy and put it down.”
That reminds me of a NASCAR ad last year, when a competitor tried to give driver Jimmy Johnson advice, and Johnson had someone bring in his championship trophy as a silent response.
Ferrera also wants to use her Emmy to open romantic doors:
The Ugly Betty star said she also wanted to use her prowess to pick the next love interest for her character.
“In the third season I’m going to put it in the contract,” she joked. “Brad Pitt.”
I’ll tell you what, America. I’ll keep Angelina Jolie occupied while you “work” with Brad, what do you say?
