Live Reaction Post: Ugly Betty Season 2 Episode 3

This is our weekly live gathering of Ugly Betty fanatics   here we’ll discuss tonight’s episode, “Betty’s Wait Problem”.  It’s spoiler-ific, (sorry, west coast folks) so all reaction will be after the jump.  It’s a Betty party!

Here’s the synopsis for tonight’s episode:

With Henry back in her life (sort of), Betty finds herself distracted by yet another guy – Gio, Mode’s new sandwich guy, who both annoys and intrigues her. Meanwhile, the Mode-ites prepare for the social event of the season – the Meades’ Black and White Ball, as Wilhelmina plots to get her wedding back on track, Amanda preps to make her first official appearance as Fey Sommer’s illegitimate daughter, and fugitive-from-the law Claire invites herself to the party.

Nice face-scrunching by drunk Henry.  Betty’s going to make him wait.

Amanda’s math is funny!  Amanda isn’t Bradford’s daughter.  OOOO – Hilda’s hangover remedy – yuck!

Christina: Glitter came out in my pee yesterday!

Gio is funny!

Oh, no – Wilhelmina is plotting…Claire is planning to go to the ball.  OMG, the man Ignacio thought he killed is alive!

Gio got fired.  Man, there are a lot of storylines!

Alexis getting made over…Wilhelmina shows Alexis a photo album – square dancing????  Those were photoshopped ,right?  She tells Alexis about the wedding.

Marc and Amanda are just the best part of the show.  Henry’s going off!  I love the explaination of his name.

Justin wan’t to learn how to play B-Ball.  Betty helped Gio get his job back.  They have some chemistry it seems.

Wilhelmina is rewriting history.  Giving Alexis the guilt trip.

Sometimes I miss my wife, sometimes I miss my flan.  The mean Mexican man is kind of funny!

Playing “Get in the Game” while Justin plays BBall. You’ve gotta love Disney.  Oh, look, Daniel can walk!

Daniel’s faking his injury to impress his PT! Gio’s getting Betty to be herself.  I hate to admit it, but Gio “works” better with Betty than Henry.  Or at least I think so right now.  I know that’s heresy.  We’ll see.

Hilda now knows about Daniel. 

Quack!  Quack!  Woof! Woof! Quack! Woof! 

Nobody cares about Amanda at the party!  OMG – Marc stripped off her dress!  That got their attention.

Betty’s ticked at Daniel.  Betty said ‘ass’. 

Ignacio talked Hector (Rosa’s brother) out of killing him. 

Here’s Kenneth Cole!  What’s this for again?  Claire corners Bradford – Wilhelmina sees them.  Dang – Wilhemina’s cold. 

Back in Mexico, a shot rings out!

What is the thing with bagels this year?  There’s been a bagel in every episode! 

Gio left Betty a “gift”sandwich.  Henry talked to Charlie.  There’s going to be a paternity test.

Ignacio walks in the door.What a great way to end the episode!

First impressions – a very busy episode.  Not as much comedy.  Not a bad episode, probably a necessary one, but last week was more funny, and it looks like next week will be, too.  We’ll call this one a ‘transition’ episode.
